Check out bluelight. You'll find all your questions and more.

Only real problem now is that no life insurance company will provide me with coverage because I was on subs for so long.
Because of the risk of relapse or is there physiological damage from it?

The whole point of methadone originally was that it was a strong pain reliever that doesn’t give you a buzz (which is why they use it to get people off drugs). Geez...how much methadone are people taking that they get a buzz from it?
Sounds crazy, but Bayer claimed heroin was less prone to abuse than morphine. Various opiates since have been marketed this way: methadone, suboxone, tramadol... medical science is honestly kind of full of crap when it comes to pharmaceutical chemistry. They rely on statistics, e.g. "we don't know exactly what this crap is, but we did a huge study and people who took it did better."

Kratom, if used properly, is a much better and more manageable way than the other 2.
Can't you still get withdrawls from Kratom? Its physically addictive isn't it?

Yes
Care to elaborate on that?

Stay away from Kratom. It's a crap shoot and I've seen lots of people that never came back mentally from Kratom (fake weed too for that matter).
Take subs for a couple weeks if you absolutely must. If you are at the point that subs are needed, nut up and go to rehab. A medically supervised detox is in your best interest.

They both suck arse to get off of. That said, subs are the lesser of 2 evils.
Many people take methadone just bc it gets then high when they go to take their morning dose.
But, like I said, sub maintenance is much better and can be prescribed by a doctor. Methadone, you'll have to go to the clinic every morning to get it.
Like I said, do the sub maintenance. Both are hard to get off of, but subs you can work your way down or just do it for a short period that makes it a lot easier to get off of than methadone.

Methadone gonna get you high, but you'll curse the day you ever started it when you try to get off them.
Subs might help you hold your shite together for a little while, but unless you're disciplined enough to wean down it's not a long term alternative.
Go to treatment.
