About the same but my handwriting sucks a lot more.

I find it decreases because the part of my brain to remember spelling is having to remember weird arse new names which really shouldn’t exist.

My spelling ability has absolutely gone to shite. I have noticed a slow but steady decline in my ability to spell. If course, I noticed the same thing in ability to do arithmetic in my head with the advent of calculators.

100%. And I hate it. I find myself all the time now questioning my spelling. Even when I know it’s right.

I stopped writing cursive in the 9th grade. Teacher constantly threatened bad grades but our principal told her students didn't technically need to write in cursive. Didn't hurt that my dad and the principal were pretty good friends back in the day.
