It seems like it was failing before their Tranny events.

Instead of sitting down and asking themselves what brings people to the other restaurants.
Who’s our market?
What can we take from the successful businesses and add something different?

They threw a Hail Mary pass and failed.

I liked the restaurant. Aside from the coffee, it was a solid breakfast/brunch place. Went there more than a few times and met the owner and can vouch for the fact that their staff knew their way around that kitchen. And they were always very friendly.

This was not the big space previously occupied by Satterfields. It was a small space nearby and it may have seated 30 people, but there are festivals and events on main street or in New Roads almost every weekend that draws crowds to the restaurants/bars there.

IMO there was more risk to the drag brunch than I’d have been comfortable with if I were running a restaurant in New Orleans, much less New Roads. But what she’s doing now is far more risky than a drag brunch. She’s thumbing her nose at the locals and seems to be trying to embarrass the town that supported her restaurant. That’s a mistake if she really wants to reopen in another building. And the GoFundMe with the embellished sob story is in very poor taste. People are talking about that far more than the drag brunch.

I guess that brilliance in the kitchen doesn’t necessarily translate to excellent business acumen.

I agree, but I wasn’t there. I think the crowd was mostly Republican leaning white females from the New Roads area that thought it was a funny/comedic event.

And it was 21 and older so I honestly don’t care.

The real question is: if true, was it legal for the landlord to cut off the AC and raise the rent?

I’ve not bashed the owner of the restaurant like other people have in this thread. But I am not sure believe everything that she’s telling the media - including the story about the landlord.

You ever heard about zoning ordanence? Drag shows are consider part of adult entertainment and adult entertainment requires approval. Its like saying "hey I am gonna have a strip show at my resturant" it doesnt work. What she did was illegal and thus she got punished and fined for it.

Also people dont want that type of adult entertainment venue in their neighborhood.

This has nothing to do with race or sexuality.

It’s about dumb.

That location does not have parking. To survive it had to rely solely on foot traffic like Highland Coffees near LSU. Instead of copying highly successful businesses in that situation (think Subway sandwiches) the owner chose a sit down fine dining approach.

Since we are talking about New Roads the money to open the restaurant probably came indirectly from the taxpayers courtesy of local government. It’s only natural that the failed entrepreneurs would blame the local citizens who didn’t want their products. The local citizens did not put them in business in the first place. A political agenda did.

She’s lying. Her shitty restaurant wasn’t making any money off troon lovers and wants to play the victim and try to grift on gofundme for a payday. Everyone is seeing what this Dylan Mulvaney fig has pulled off and now they all want to try to cash in also.

America. If you say you are not treated equally, they call you a liar, but actions speak louder than words.

Yeah this one isn’t a victory. She didn’t involve kids. It wasn’t a regular thing. Got threats to her family. Seems actually pretty pathetic.

One of the favored tactics from the left to silence opposing voices is to falsely claim threats of violence. To believe her claims without any evidence provided, is to be quite gullible.

It's definitely projection as the left are the ones that tend to go above and beyond with their behavior.

If these claims from people like this lady were true, we would think half the republican party would be up on some kind of threat charges as they throw it out there every time....but they conveniently never seem to pan out when/if they call the cops. Weird

Not sure where you’re seeing the owner had “shows”. Sounds like it was a one time deal.

If the customer base was so entranced by tranny shows they should’ve done a better job of patronizing the establishment.

Bottom line, it looks like the lease had expired, the restaurant owner was behind on payments, and was on a month to month deal.

And of course, the owner had to throw in the obligatory crap about threats of violence, bigotry, hate, etc.

As usual, that’s all in such short supply it has to be manufactured, like outsourcing Nazi white supremacy to Mexican gang members.

most landlords in NOLA would let there be a drag show one night, and then a trump rally the next

Not sure if that’s a good comparison
