Only thing that changed in my house is my kids are out of school. Wife and I still working like normal. Love the lack of traffic though. Non essential people need to work from home permanently

Plus now that a bunch of additional coworkers are working from home, I gotta get on zoom calls and log what I'm working on

We use Teams but Zoom, WebEx, Teams etc meetings are almost a daily occurrence for me with vendors even when we are in the office.

We have hundreds of employees working from home now and many of them didn't have corporate laptops. A lot are using personal devices and it's been a bit of a cluster frick getting everyone settled.

I'm in IT but don't usually deal with the end users too much but we are helping with things outside of our traditional responsibilities right now.

Imagine you owned a business. How long would you tolerate it before you just liquidated that business and sat on that big pile of cash for a while?

This is a legit concern. Especially for those business owners whose businesses aren't worth millions, but in the upper to high hundred thousands and their currently running that tank down below 1/4 of a gallon. Should they have planned better? Probably. But that doesn't mean shite for workers who are about to be out of a job.

I was born for social distancing. I despise the vast majority of the population.

I normally have a two monitor/server setup. I am working on a chrome book without a vpn. We have some internet based data bases thankfully but everything else I need off the server comes via email from someone in the office. And we are an essential (for real) business.

Is it just me or does the user interface of Teams kind of suck? I mean, the audio and video are good, but the notifications are kind of all-or-nothing. It's either "take over my whole computer" or "full radio silence. "

the exact same amount of money. I just watch TV and drink and eat snacks. It’s like I was on a treadmill for 15 years they let me take a break. I’m not sure I can go back to the suck.

I agree 100%.

It's a little clunky for sure but a cool idea to be kind of a central repository for everything. It does a lot more than just video conferences.

The screen sharing kind of sucks too right now. Particularly if you need to take control of someone else's machine.

Up until yesterday on a purely personal level, absolutely. I always did work from home a fair bit but now the wife is home every day, business is slow, checks were still coming in.

Monster paycut yesterday however, so now I'm in "oh frick its gonna happen to me" mode.

I think it will change a lot of people’s habits, kind of shows a lot of the fringe bs we do because we think we need to doesn’t matter

Perhaps a little easier, but not better. Wife being forced a paycut, me, too. Hate that a few stores like Lowe's close earlier than normal.
Hate having to feel guilty about sneezing in public now.

I still go to work although my side job has been cut back probably 90%. I've been able to sleep in on my days off, go fishing more, I suck at fishing, much better at hunting. Hanging out with kids a lot more although today has been a wasted day, I didn't do much at all. Life has been a slower pace for sure, I like it. Ready for businesses to go back to work though, life to return to normal even after all that I said.

Sort of. I didn't go out much because I have a toddler, my wife and I are still fully enployed, and my commute takes half the time.
