People like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk are what Progressives hate more than even the most extreme conservatives; They do not fit into nice, neat categories.
Progressives, since the first wave in the late 1800s, have operated under the assumption that the "right" people in government can successfully design a better society. To do so, people have to be put into categories. Each category can be addressed, beneficially or otherwise, to make society better for everyone. If you fail to fall into the proper place within their categories and schemes, you should be excised from society.
If you are black, certain assumptions have to be made. You are from a poor area. You have been discriminated against. You vote Democrat, and so on. If you do not meet these criteria, then you are told you are wrong. Stick to your lane. You are "acting White" and other such nonsense.
Look at Latinos in 2016. When Latinos did not vote Dem as a monolith, calls came to redefine what a "Latino" is. Many Progressives wanted to remove the label from "white" Latinos, especially those from Cuba (who tend to vote Republican), because they are not actually marginalized.
