That said, I wouldn't own a Chrysler product outside of Ram, Wrangler, Durango/Grand Cherokee, or Challenger.
This.
The platforms above are the ones fiat actually give a shite about and therefore are on par with most domestics.
Everything else is trash.
I had the same question as op not too long ago. Went ahead and pulled the trigger on a challenger. Happy with it thus far.

Yep. Little trucks are pricy and Tundra leads the way.
Lol at the people who owned a (as in one) Ford, Chevy, Ram etc that sucked and decide every vehicle that manufacturer produces is shite.
They make millions of autos. There are bound to be a few turds.

Toyota
Ford
Nissan
GM/Dodge
I work on vehicles for a living and trust me that is the correct order
I've come to hate Chevrolet trucks and won't buy them anymore. fricking interiors fall apart, door handles and tailgate handles break, fricking lifters are complete shite, none of the gauges work.
Dodge, stay away from the 4.7L V8's. The valve seats break and lose compression and frick up the pistons. Also, the rocker arms just fall off.

Ive got a 2015 Big Horn and it’s been great so far. Just hit 30K miles and have only had regular maintenance. This is the first Dodge/Ram I’ve ever owned and I plan on driving it until my 3 year old can drive if it lasts that long.
The new Ram looks sweet.

I hope so because I like the look of the trucks and I want a Durango.
Just bought a Durango last week. Love it. Super comfortable. Went in not even having that on our radar. Had our minds set on a Chevy Traverse, we'd driven them before. This was far more comfortable. Also drove a GMC Acadia which was pretty much like the Traverse in comfort level.

I had a Durango for three years. Rock solid. Only reason I didn't go back with another is they changed from an Infinity sound system to a Beats by Dre sound system and totally screwed it up. Now instead of the sweetly tuned sound it had before, the emphasis is all about that bass, and the doors rattle. Other than that, I would have purchased another.

Still driving a 2007 Ram Hemi I bought new. No problems that weren't pretty much my own fault. Also throughout the years had a 00 T&C,03 Ram, 13 Durango and 13 Challenger that were trouble free.

Ive commented many times on D/C quality since 2000ish. I've owned a Daytona charger, two Challengers and a Dodge ram. I have had zero issues with any of them since my first in 2005.

Referring back to my original post, is this model considered 2018 or 2019?
Anyone know the release date?

It’s a 2019 model. Should be on dealer lots by Q4 of 2018.

The 4.7L hasn't been an option for Ram trucks for 5 years now. I never liked that motor anyway.
I'll be interested to see what the revamped Ecodiesel looks like for the late 2019/2020 models. I had hoped they'd roll out an updated Hemi for 2019 too and make use the Apache platform (6.4L/392) for it, but maybe we'll see that also in 2020.
This new Ram will be extremely solid though. I'm always a fan of the Sport models with mess chrome. The Rebel model actually looks pretty damn good too; I don't need a truck like that, but it's unique and they're finally offering it with 4 corner air suspension & in a crew cab.

Curious as to how much of a price increase customers will be seeing ... and if rebates will be "plentiful" as they are with current models. My guess is the offers won't be as aggressive as they are today.

Honestly, you could probably get a steal on a 2017/2018 if you don’t mind the current body style. I’d expect the 2019’s to be more expensive for sure, still don’t think Ram will be as high as equivalent Ford’s and GM’s though.
