quote:Ahh, this is the type of ignorance I like
all the Ram Truck owners I know swear the Ram is not a Dodge
They say the dodge name is no longer on there and it is not a dodge
It is still a dodge, the only saving grace is the Cummings engine- the hemi is still the joke it was when it was first introduced

OP, my advice is go drive all the trucks, and do your own research. This website is awful when it comes to brand loyalty in the truck market, you wont get reliable info.

Just got one with a super crew cab. It's crazy how much room there is in the back seat.
I had the Lariat model. Had all the bells and whistles - dual moon-roof, 360 camera, navigation, heated and cooled seats, rain sensing wipers, blind spot notification, running boards, etc. and the more and more I type about it - and think about it - and this thread isn't helping - the more and more I want to move away from my Taco.

I'll never buy another Chevy, my last one was an absolute piece of shite. I lost the whole top end of the motor at 60K miles. They rebuilt it and it was burning a quart of oil every thousand miles after that. Never had it off the pavement and I had to go through all of the ball joints at 70K miles.

The new Expedition now has a bitch switch too.
They do. We went and looked at one a few weeks ago. For as large of an SUV the Expedition is, it drives "smaller."
But man oh man ... Ford sure is proud of that sticker price they slapped on it.

My father has a Chevrolet truck - he's always been a Chevy guy for the most part and I just can't see myself in one. For me, the quality of the interior doesn't appear to be on par with the Ford.
If I were to consider another truck, as of right now, I would look at the Ford again and the Dodge. I like Toyota for quality, but the Tundra sucks for fuel economy and hasn't evolved their look over the years. And the Nissan Titan - just not sold on the new redesigned look. I'm sure the quality and reliability are there - it's a Nissan, but it doesn't have any "wow" factor for me.

I've got the Lariat w/ the Coyote too. Everything but a sunroof and 4WD. I was briefly looking at the Taco but I knew I was going to want more room eventually. The Dodge reviews seem to be varied, but the F-150's are pretty much bulletproof from everything that I've gathered during my search (with the exception of the early ecoboosts). I stared out looking for Chevy's and GMC's but the more I test drove, the more I liked the Fords. The steering can't be beat.

They're really nice and Ford did a great job on them.

You've got yourself a solid truck. I absolutely regret getting rid of my F150.
It's like the old girlfriend that you let get away.

That lumbar adjustment is legit af for long rides

I really like that truck but I couldn't bring myself to buy one based on how I've seen them hold up. If they have improved it may be an option in a few years down the road.
Gonna need to improve on resale too

I bought a 17 XLT super crew in October. Private school tuition is a bitch

quote:No argument here, its obvious when you own and work on a Toyota what you are dealing with. Work on a Ford or Chevy you'll want to dump gas on them a light them up.
Ford has the most Innovative truck out there by far but I would not put it above Toyota because Toyota's quality is proven and Ford hasn't proven that it can match Toyota in that department

People here will disagree but I’ve known more Silverados to go 200K than I have Fords.
Tundras can be reliable up to 100K then they start having problems. Happened to one I owned and FIL.
RAM is value but garbage. My BIL loves them. Buys nothing but Dodge. Personally I’ve always been told they’re junk

I'm not too familiar with the Tesla style (only see exterior pictures of that vehicle) - is this what Dodge is mimicking?
That large touch screen. Volvo has recently done a fantastic job with this, too.

They HAD to have improved.

The truck in the OP gotta be $65K+??

If you like the ram and can get it for a good price, buy it. I've purchased 4 new vehicles in my lifetime, 2 fords, a GMC, and most recently a dodge. Dodge is the only one that I have had zero issues with in the first 10k miles. GMC was by far the worst from start to finish.

To add another strike against the Nissan, their interface is not user friendly at all. I drive rentals quite a bit for work, and I got an Armada a few months back. It took me and another co-worker (who also drives rentals all the time) over 30 minutes just to hook up the bluetooth. It's not intuitive at all.
Using rental experience, I'd say Ford-->Dodge-->Chevy/GM. Enterprise doesn't get Toyota/Nissan full-sized trucks often, so I don't have too much experience with them, outside of that dreadful Armada.
