At least a lot of Mexicans are hard workers with strong religious and family values. Many Latinos have conservative values but are told to vote blue.

Seriously, he got his $20MM/yr payday and his true colors came out. He’s a fricking psycho.

Drew is being treated by the Saints,

A movement that sends him out
Drew Brees is a wonderful person and member of society. He’d be setting the world on fire even if he’d never played football. The trash players would be either living off the government or working at a car wash.

No new team but my interest in the NFL took a hit watching how ppl treated Drew. Unless something changes between now and then I won’t be as invested when he retires, if at all.

You’re exactly right. I want Drew to stay. He’s been the greatest asset to NOLA and the state of LA for the last 15 years. He’s been an incredible role model. I want to support the Saints forever. But I’ll turn in my fan card if they force him out.

The only team I really care about is the Cubs and no I wouldn’t change that over a controversy
Yea, but you are a Cubs fan. Your opinion is prolly not all that valid. I'm not sure any fanbase in the history of sports is so completely adjusted to disappointment.

This would be enough for me to probably never pull for the Saints again. Has anyone else ever picked a new team because of some controversy you couldn’t defend
Stop livin on the moment for a minute and think about the early years of integration in college and pro sports.
Gifted athletes, for the most part, recognize game and work together for a common goal. Think about Jackie Robinson's early MLB teammates. Not every starter was on board with his signing. But... These things have a way of working themselves out when a common goal is shared.
This too shall pass and Brees will be under center.

I was a Bulls fan the late eighties until the end of the Jordan run. I couldn’t root for Reinsdorf and Kraus after tearing that down.
I never picked up a new NBA team. Now I will watch casually and latch onto a player. I was into the Sixers with Iverson, the Mavs with Dirk, and Lebron in Cleveland, and I like watching the Greek Freak with Milwaukee now.
Nothing for political reasons though, because I’m not a loser.

I hope your last sentence rings true. I’d feel wrong pulling for another team. But damn am I disgusted by how Drew is being treated.

I have more in common with a van load of Mexicans than I do with an average NFL player.

Anyone who says yes was never a true fan in the first place. They can go melt and hunt and fish or frick cousins or whatever it is people do in Apafaloochie Parish.

I have always been a Saints fan, but they have always been second fiddle to LSU in my book. Now that professional sports is becoming a political echo chamber rather than a distraction from the outside world, I’m not sure how I’ll proceed yet. Ask me in a few months. As of right now, my passion for the NFL is absolutely closer to the floor than it is to the ceiling.

Definitely going with the All Blacks (rugby). Did I do that right?
Posted on 6/4/20 at 11:02 pm to MikeHoncho47
Today, I cancelled my Saints and Pelicans season tickets. I will never attend another professional game as long as I live. LSU starts doing stupid shite, I am going to cancel my football and baseball tickets also.
