There’s no way you thought to yourself when posting this “hmmm, I’m sure to not get made fun of if I click ‘submit’ here.”

But then again, I think you might be on the spectrum so how should I know.

I partied there once with that Craigslist guy. He was a little odd for my tastes.

The documentary may very well have been slanted to paint Trump in a bad light, but from what I understood while watching it, the guys that died in the plane crash were the ones with the actual casino business management skills.

Documentary made it seem like the casinos were well run and profitable under those guys prior to their deaths, and then once Trump took over, things started going downhill. Trump then blamed the failures on the decisions of the dead guys because they were dead and what difference did it make if they were blamed.

Is there a lot of crime there?

No

The casinos are not flashy with all the extras like Las Vegas. If you are into gambling then you'll have fun because it's a casino.

If you're looking for entertainment and fun then you'll be disappointed.

And the beaches suck.

BS. It just looks old and run down, not like Calliope during the 90's.

It's horrible. We went a few years ago and it was really depressing. The whole place is a shite hole. Worse than Shreveport if you can believe it. NJ legalizing online gambling really crippled them.

Biloxi next to AC looks like a new Lamborghini next to an old Yugo.

Which is crazy, bc all they have to do is bring in entertainment and make it a place with more to do than sit next to senior citizens smoking and playing $5.00 blackjack in a casino that looks and smells like it hasn't been updated since the early 80's.

A comeback from hurricane Sandy or from a down economy?

Economy, Asbury Park was down since the 1970s after race riots here.

In the 90s, the gay community started buying houses and it was coming back but Sandy really made the turnaround take off. The town was pretty much the only shore town that didn't get badly damaged, no inland flooding, the boardwalk got beat up.
Our house two blocks from the ocean had zero damage, not a kissing shingle or anything.
The first summer after Sandy it was just about the only fully functional shore town.
First new hotel in 50 years just opened last year. New condos are going up all over. Homes that people picked up in the 90s dirt cheap are now worth half million or more depending on how close to the beach.
Condos right down the street at the next corner closer to the beach were sold out prior to the first nail being driven. Sold in 2014 for 450K and now are being listed at 900K.

I've been to AC - about ten years ago. Now that casinos are popping up all over the east coast there isn't much point to go out there.

Yeah, I am going to have to go back and watch it, because I didn't completely understand the entire business setup in terms of Trump and the guys who died in the plane crash. They said Trump took some slack for something he said. Evidently he said something that came off insensitive towards the families of the guys who died.. He also said he had planned to be on the plane with them then somehow decided not to meet with them or something. That's besides the point, but was the Taj Mahal built because it seemed to be an upcoming area? Or did things pop up around the Taj Mahal?

I went a few years ago. It's trashy and depressing. I walked down the boardwalk and expected it to be something really nice but the beaches looked bad and the casinos seemed abandoned

I stayed in AC several years back at Trumps hotel and one thing really stood out. At first I noticed that the shampoo, soap and towels had TRUMP on them. No big deal. Then I noticed the telephone handset, the TV remote and the furniture has TRUMP on it. I realized they went to the expense of having everything custom made just so it would have his name on it. I asked one of the managers and he said Trump ordered them to put his name on everything possible regardless of cost. It was really strange.

He convinced a real estate investor who was building a hotel in South Korea to name the hotel TRUMP. If I am not mistaken, he only owns a handful of places that are named Trump.

The Indian casinos really started hurting AC. Trump was a sob to do business with. He didn't care if you were already low on a bid, always demanded lower pricing because of who he was. Companies would bump up their prices knowing Trump would get them to "cut" their bid to him. Did successfully sue Trump in AC

Don’t waste your time, go to Vegas. AC is a dump. The state has to administer the city it’s so fricked.

I believe this. Prices are stupid crazy along the shore. How much is a two bedroom condo with nice views of the city and quick access across the river going for in Hoboken?

He's explained this on The Apprentice many times. He's said the name "Trump" is a branding name that they use as much as possible bc of the meaning it carries. It's part of their marketing strategy.

On the phone handset? They aren’t selling phones.
