DeadDub that is a really cool story. Think you could reach out to your old buddy Todd and see if he has an extra 50 million just laying around ,to buy out a certain football coach

It was 2014 and I was at a BTE concert and charity auction. One of the big items was a dinner where Tory McPhail would come to your house and cook dinner for 8 with wine pairings.

I had just gotten a really good job and a great bonus so I was going to splurge. I bid several times. Some dude behind me kept bidding along with me.

500, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000… that got to the top of my price range.

I turned around and it was fricking Todd. I had no chance to actually win that. I asked if I could at least come to the dinner. He said no.

He was cool as shite when I worked for him. At the time I was helping open up new stores when he first really expended. At the time it was only in Louisiana.

Think about it like this

50 million seconds is about 1.5 years

22 billion seconds is nearly 700 years.

My college roommate worked at the original Raising Cane’s when it opened. Her brother was friends with him. Also i think i took scuba lessons in the same class. It was either him or the other owner. My dive buddy said “That’s one of the owners of Raising Cane’s.” Back then it still wasn’t huge. Seemed like a nice guy.

2010 Florida game in Gainesville we were in line for the concession stand at halftime in Tiger Band uniforms. Todd Graves walks up and says “I got all the guys in the jackets” and pays for all our food and drinks after a ton of us order. Pretty nice guy from my one encounter.

Just looked it up and you are correct. I thought Bart told me he was an O lineman.

I fixed my original post.

Tod Graves here. I’m a pretty chill guy. Except when LSU won’t get rid of BK, and no that’s not Burger King. I got rid of them myself.

Did you downsize the letters in your name when you cut chicken sizes?

He offered my cousin a substantial equity percentage in his startup days but he did'nt think a restaurant serving only chicken tenders would ever work out.

Dear Mr. Graves:

Please make a spicy option for your chicken fingers.

Kindest regards,

Met him a half dozen times from 2006 to 2010. Encounters were mostly related to entrepreneurship and business development competitions. He was often a supporter or judge. Similar to his Shark Tank gig but at a local scale. Very nice guy, authentic listener, and overall supportive person. He gave really good business advice as well.
