Has anyone gotten a bill for some really old charges from LA govt recently?

I just got a letter in the mail saying that I owe 125 bucks because my car didn't have insurance in Louisiana in August of 2006!
It's because I moved to Texas two months before that. I sold that car 5 years ago and have none of the records. Is this some shite they are trying to do to make some extra money? Digging up old arse charges.

Don't pay. Nothing will happen.

Assuming you live in Texas and have a valid license there that isn't suspended, I wonder if anything will happen if you don't pay.

There should be a statue of limitations...
Unless they've all been removed.

Contact WDSU. Let's get on this investigation.

You can try this if you know for sure you had coverage up until it was sold or traded in or registered it in Texas (or all of the above).
If they have proof of gaps I guess they can get you for original issue and false info on form.
