Picked one up just outside of Baton Rouge and drove him to Shreveport. We split a 12 pack on the way up and had a good time but I made him ride with the window down because he stunk so goddamn bad.

Yep. Once. Well. Kind of
I told him to get in the bed of my truck. He tossed his bag in, then I took off
There wasn't much good in the bag btw

Wife and I picked up a guy hitch hiking on St John at the top of the island on our honeymoon. Guy jumped in our jeep and we took him into town. He thanked us and hopped out. Pretty uneventful.

I was leaving dental school one evening and was stopped at the intersection getting ready to get on the interstate. There was a little girl around 7 years old with an older black guy (looked kinda like an old Garrett Morris) on the corner by the gas station, and the guy ran over to my car and knocked on the window ( I was in a new black Mustang GT back then in the late '80s/early '90s). He asked if I could give him and his little girl a ride home. Don't know why, but I said yes. He said it was close by. I pulled over and they got in, then we proceed to take a freaking 20 minute car ride to God knows where, with him constantly telling me it's just "a little bit further.". I had no idea where we were. He lets the little girl out at the house then gets back in. :banged: Asked me to give him a ride back to the St. Bernard projects - and since it was right by the dental school and I had no idea where we were and needed to get back to the interstate, I told him okay. As we start approaching the projects, he starts asking me if I want to buy a TV or a stereo or a bunch of other random crap that he apparently must have stolen. Tell him no thanks. He then starts to direct me back up into the projects. Told him, "Yeah, I really need to be somewhere right now, so I'm just going to have to let you out right here." He got out without a fuss, then I continued on to my girlfriend's house an hour later than expected, where I continued to get no sex for 2 1/2 years. But that's another story. Still to this day I can't believe I told the guy "yes," but I just have always had a problem with telling people "no." I guess I would have turned him down if not for the little girl.

Several years ago, a football player on campus flagged me down & asked me to give him a ride to the Cox building, because he had an injury. I did. Probably not my brightest moment, since I didn't know who he was, but I survived. My husband (at the time) flipped out on me.

In the late 90's I picked one up on Highway 49 and it turned out he wanted to go to Yazoo city which is where I was headed. It was like a 2 and a half hour drive so we talked quite a bit and the subject of cocaine came up and I told him I had never tried it. He said his brother was a dealer and he'd hook me up with a bump when we got to Yazoo as payment for the ride. I decided what the hell since the wedding I was going to wasn't until the next day and I had an afternoon to kill. When we got there he took me to this old shitty motel where his brother was staying with a hooker. I remember noticing the coke had a slight yellow tint to it and I remember snorting it but after that it gets blurry. The next thing I remember was being in the passenger seat of my truck at a hospital parking lot. The dude and his brother were telling me I needed to go to the emergency room but they wouldn't go in with me. So I managed to get myself checked in and the next thing I remember was waking up in one of the beds at about 4 the next morning. The docs told me that the coke was probably laced with something else and I was lucky to be alive. I had to miss my buddy's wedding and I never heard from the guy or his brother again

Picked up a couple of drenched rats outside Denali and took them to Wasilla. They were ivy leaders and the ride back was very pleasant. Took them to dinner that night after they cleaned up

Yes at Spring break in Fla. We were drunk and picked up a smelly hippie from France on I-10. He smelled so fricking bad we dumped him off a mile down the highway

It used to be quite popular back in the 60's and 70's. I have, but stopped after seeing "The Hitchhiker" movie.

Picked up two.
The most interesting one was a guy from France. He just ended a relationship and decided to sell everything and tour the other side of the world with only a backpack and hitchhiking.
He started in Eastern Canada, worked his way over to Vancouver, BC, and we picked him up in Olympic National Park. It was one of the places he wanted to see, so we checked out some of the waterfalls and stuff with him for the day and hung out with him, then dropped him off at a lodge where he said he was trying to pick up a cougar for the night.
His end goal was to make it down to see a friend in Argentina. He had a ways to go.
