The low clouds over Lafayette tonight are hauling arse, but the air outside is cool and dry. The moon was out a little while ago. Last night, it was hot, still and muggy.
It is still 92% relative humidity in Lafayette right now. It is anything but cool and dry.
ETA - Still can feel better than yesterday though.

Any insight on what is happening in The Woodlands? Any major flooding?

Strangely, in BR this afternoon, there was a really nice cool, and dry feeling breeze. Have no idea if it's related to what's going on but it felt remarkably cooler.

The El Tiempo on Richmond isn't flooded is it?
No, unless it took it in early Sunday morning.

i was 15 when Katrina hit. Felt like a vacation as well. Up until the point where we were one of the first ones back in Kenner and got hit with the smell. People will know the smell I'm talking about. It was like everything was dead.

Just checking in, been driving 4 hours round trip the last two days cleaning up what's left of our place down in Lamar outside of Rockport. Devastation is unreal, pictures doesn't do it justice, 13' to 15' storm surge is what took out my inlaws place. Several of my friends that were checking on us yesterday were today evacuating there homes southwest of Houston. As worn out physically as I am, I think I'm more worn out mentally, lots to take in with no rest. God bless anyone affected by Harvey, lost for words to say beyond that.

I'm at Northpointe on 249. North of Louetta it's all good until 2920. But you know this.

The HRRR seems to have initialized pretty well, so it could be a good indicator. I'll post it when it's done.

And best of luck with the mental fatigue, because that is what lasts for much longer than the adrenaline of the immediate response.
I experienced serious depression after Hurricane Ike took out my hometown for the second time following Hurricane Rita. Stay strong, man. It gets better, and people are resilient.

Damn, I hate to hear that ryno. I was there a year ago. I know you have a million thoughts going though your head, but once you can get in an assess needs I want to help in some way.
Man I appreciate this a ton. Right now prayers are welcome. Many are way worse off than us.

Much like most of Mississippi during Katrina, unfortunately the Rockport area will be the footnote of Harvey. Sorry for your losses.

Stay safe, man. Sorry for the loss of your place.
