There will be if what I am seeing out of my office window keeps up.
ET: My office is in Moss Bluff. A suburb just North of LC and it floods bad here. I imagine South LC is in for it soon.

Cane River is really an oxbow lake, and there's a pretty high bank on the Natchitoches side. At any rate, if your kid lives on campus I wouldn't worry about it. If not, I guess it depends on the location, but I still wouldn't be overly concerned.

GFS running now showing now a most western track to the storm which would lessen the impact to SELA

I fear If it continues heading further east rescuing efforts will be diminished in the Houston area and moved into Louisiana as access is cut off.

From looking at the radar Lake Chuck, Laffy and the Berry and surrounding area are getting hammered.
We havnt gotten much in nola yet but the are saying 7"-8" through Thursday

This is cane river in Natchitoches, for it to "flood" it has to climb a significant amount, really nothing to worry about. Worse I've seen the Cane do is get up to the pavement in the picture. Still would have to climb a LONG way to get anywhere near the city.
Only apartments I can think of that would be affected by the Cane are Fleur De Lis apartments near the bridge as some of the lower apartments are near the Cane. Even with those it would have to climb pretty high.
I lived on a house right Front Street that bordered the Cane (right next to the St. Jean museum) when a flood hit and the water never came close to us.
