Will tomorrow morning bring us a better idea of the exact path? I know the rainfall amounts will be unpredictable be it 5 or 50 inches. Just trying to have a game plan if I should start getting things in order after work or if I can wait until the weekend to start moving things around.

The closer it gets, the clearer the picture will be.

Where are you located, in a general sense?

Yes. The models are better the closer in, as fewer errors propagate the prediction.

The GFS and Euro have the same basic idea of a strong TS hitting the Texas gulf coast, meandering around for days, and then sliding east toward Louisiana. You can expect that to play out, with the finer details still muddied.

ETA: Intensity is also subject to change. It could be a stronger storm than currently projected.

I keep hearing that until it develops more we won't get a specific picture. A closed center of circulation will be evident by tomorrow I'm sure. Not liking this Euro model pushing it offshore LA then into Vermillion Parish

Considering I'm in the south of that parish, I don't like it either!

This thread seems like a good place to mention that Alvin, TX holds the 24-hour rainfall record in the US - 43 inches!

Occurred during Tropical Storm Claudette in July 1979. That is an outrageous amount of rain.

Here is the record for each state:

Here is Claudette

Here is Allison

So the 12z GFS would be record breaking and the 12z Euro would just be really bad.

Where did I say I'm panicked or worried or anything other than "I don't like it"???

We didn't flood last year but we were about 3-4 inches from it. I'm seriously thinking my husband is a genius for choosing to not plant soybeans this year.

Yeah, the 12z GFS is still spread out over 2-3 days though. 43" in 24 hours is unimaginable.

Rds I posted this LINK to the harris county flood warning system a few pages back. Might be useful to add to the OP for the houston folks who don't already know about it.
