The only good news here is the faster than anticipated forward motion not giving it more time to strengthen.
That is good news. Any chance the faster than anticipated forward motion may hint that Harvey gets further inland that we'd originally hoped?

That quicker motion probably made the difference for us in La. It'll dig in too deep to get pulled out (hehe) toward us. Which makes it worse for Texas though.

Watching the news coverage is just making me sick. Wishing this was over as soon as possible.

This is still a strengthening hurricane, if it slows down and spends more time over water, it might make a run at Cat. 4 (maybe). Regardless, this is still going to be at least a strong Cat. 3 at landfall.

Looks like a slight left turn from Harvey over past several minutes.
Over 31,000 AEP Texas customers out of power already.

Does this tell us anything significant?

It's further proof that this hurricane is still gaining strength.

My heart goes out to you. I've lost most of everything I owned a little over a year ago, and all I could do is watch the news and river gauges and see it happen. I've got your family in my thoughts man.

My aunt has an office in Rockport. They cleaned it out and went to my grandpas house. Pretty much expect to lose the building due to its location

Rockport will need all the prayers you can handle in about ~4hrs.
New update:
Still 125mph Cat 3. Reported 155mph gusts. Moving NW at 10.
The movement has been nice.

The eye is warming up, suggesting more and more condensation which means more and more water being picked up. Says the hurricane is still getting stronger.

Cantore is on now and fired up. Says we are now in trouble and it's official.

The northern eyewall of #Harvey appears to be maxing out Corpus NEXRAD velocity at 142MPH ON RadarScope app.
