Circulation looks further South on the loop, as opposed to the model tracker...no?

When is this expected to hit land? Will I make it back to Houston via plane on Thursday? Asking for two toddlers and a 9 months pregnant wife.

Hard to say but looks pretty close to the 12z best track

As it moves closer to the ULL today, convection may be shifted towards the NE side and that could pull the developing LLC to the NE. Something to watch but too complicated of a process to make any predictions.

What's that on the MX/Guat. border that looks like it's running due West across it?

Is it the Ghost of Peej?

Chron.com (Houston Chronicle) has nothing on Harvey on the 1st page.
KHOU.com - "Increased rain potential for weekend"
KPRC site - nothing

Too busy covering the eclipse, statues of dead men, and other hurt feelings nonsense.

but you watch by the 5PM news today, it'll be doom and gloom coverage.

I somehow knew I couldn't trust seeing all those projected paths into Mexico. We really don't need a system like this impacting Louisiana right now. We have way too much rain this year as it is.

I think Thursday thru Friday night is the timeframe of the beginning effects.

I was just telling the wife last week how with all the rain we've had over the past few months, it wouldn't take much to give the area flooding issues. If this comes and stalls over east Texas and gives us training gulf flow, we will have some major issues.

Not to mention if it keeps shifting further north New Orleans is going to get skull fricked.

The tracks always seem to be iffy when a system is on shore like this. I'll be interested to see how the models change once it's over water again. Models have been trending further north for a few days now so I'm not surprised to see it in Texas right now.

If the pumps are still iffy, then NOLA needs to take this threat very, very seriously.
