There is a book by Dr. Debra Soh that is about her research. Suicide rates among people who transition under the age of 21 compared to the rest of the population within that age range.
She her studies pretty much tell the obvious. People should wait until they are in their mid 20s to transition. If that was the case, a lot less people would transition because studies show that... I think its over 50% of people who transition under the age of 21 regret doing so.
This is her book.

Harvard, in this publication from January of this year, is focused on the rights of young people to transition.

I find it odd that she was the fifth highest compensated prof in a university known for its elite medical school and other bleeding edge research.
Compare and contrast to the U of Texas - 2nd largest endowment behind Harvard, also an elite med school. Once you get past the athletic department, where most of the compensation comes from outside the university, you get the President, the Dean of the Med School, and a bunch of med school faculty in their top 25 for comp. LINK
It's not like UT has a bunch of lightweights teaching outside the med school either - until recently, they had the inventor of the lithium ion battery and the inventor of ethernet on staff.
