If I recall my statistics correct. Sweden is 54% overweight and obese, US is 70% overweight and obese.

Smoking: US 14%, Sweden 22%

That's off the top of my head. Swedish stats interest me because my mothers side of my family is from Sweden.

I thought everything was based on ventilators not critical care beds.
I have not been able to find a reliable figure for ventilators per country, so I've been using the next best thing which is critical care per capita.

We will have a vaccine long before 2022.

One obvious flaw with this particular model, is that it assumes a static knowledge and treatment model.

Everyone who is arguing that anti-Malarials can kick this in the butt? Time is given to study their effectiveness.

Everyone arguing over the modes of transmission and minimum exposures necessary to create risk? Time is given to refine the understanding.

People who want a vaccine to end this thing? Time is given to put them through trials.

There are plenty of *promising* avenues. There aren't any *proven* avenues. The point of social distancing is to buy that time and space to be proven.

Well that's just retarded

It’s also not what the article said. There is a big difference in saying “we MAY have to continue a form of SD until 2022“ and the title that claiming it WILL continue.

Start of College Football may be delayed if this continues. Start of College Football will be delayed. See the difference?

and here is something trying to take advantage of one of our new precedents

They got more pub they they would have.

Nobody would have dreamed of any of this happening 3 months ago.

It will go down easy from hear on because people will easily be talked into "we better do it now so we don't have to end up doing that again" leading to doing exactly "that" again.

Americans won’t do that. Another few weeks of this and there will be revolt. Especially if the death numbers don’t explode like the claim they will.

SARS 1.0 had some early vaccine trials that ended... poorly. Not saying a vaccine is impossible, we have never thrown this kind of push behind a virus, but I wouldn't count on one (that works properly) until mid next year.

Then there is the option of rounding up all the Harvard idiots and putting them to sleep.

100% this.

Use common sense while you’re out, Wash your hands, and don’t touch your face in public and you have like. 99% chance of not getting it.

Just get us back to normal. If you’re an idiot and take no precautions then you deal with the consequences.
