Teachers have 9 or 10 month contracts. Their paycheck is stretched out over 12 months but they are only paid for working those few months. Even more specifically it is a 180 day contract.
I completely understand a lot of the complaints about teachers but saying we are paid for being off all summer and during Christmas is just someone being ignorant of how it works. It is the only issue I get tired of hearing about. The rest of them I can laugh off because they are probably true.
