What is the OT’s opinion on receiving “Happy Father’s Day” texts from people who are neither your children, family or in laws?

I have received a slew of texts this morning, some of them massive group texts, from all manner of people.

Personally, I find it annoying. Especially the one I got at 7 am. I thought this was a day for kids and their dads.

Opinion?

It's in good spirit, but bad form. It's usually people 60+ so it's excused.

It's the one day , although mostly shallow, where good fathers and men are recognized in this freaky country. Just take it.

Bad form. Annoying but harmless.

However, no one should ever send texts for any reason at 7am on a Sunday.

I guess it is better than nothing, but I can't say that a group text to an entire contact list is a very personal way to wish someone well!

I like them. No women are involved and my buds and me can say what we feel.

Merry Christmas/Happy Thanksgivings are bad...get to see 12 different pictures of turkey and dressing.

I accept any and all greetings about Father’s Day regardless of the source!

I don’t care, but I always double take when people wish me happy Mother’s Day, since I’m not expecting it. I’m in my 20s and unmarried and don’t really look/dress/act like a mother.

Intentions are good though so it’s whatever.
