Since we're slightly derailing from the Saenger and talking Hamilton in general, I'm not a fan of Broadway shows all that much.

But, I actually enjoyed the hell out of the last 2 years or so of singing along with them to Hamilton in the car or at the house.

And as far as historical accuracy, it's actually HELPED teachers in schools b/c kids WANT to know what really happened and compare it to the Musical. We don't listen to it as much anymore but was some very fond memories.

I can't think of another musical since my generation(x) that has had this kind of positive effect on the family unit.

That makes it rather frickin awesome Geaux Hamilton.

It was better when I saw it in New York. I was disappointed with a couple of the performers last Friday.

Saw it in NYC and NOLA. The travel cast was great -- much better than most of the shows we get here. King George did his own thing and stole the show. The Schuyler Sisters voices were probably the best out of anyone.

Race really wasn't a part off it.

What are you talking about? The entire identity and notoriety of the play, is over black actors playing the founding fathers.

Have tickets in NYC for Hamilton in May. Cost a whole bunch of Benjamin’s for those tickets. Guess it’s fitting that I plan to see Ain't Too Proud while there. Yeah, I know, subtle brag.

Maybe among people who know nothing of Broadway style musical theater. For those of us who do, it's an incredibly accurate and interesting retelling of what should otherwise be dry history in a musical format that is complex both in its composition and lyrics. Oh, and almost the entire production is in musical number. You can listen to the soundtrack and get, almost, every minute of the production. There are 46 numbers running over 140 minutes. For comparison, Wicked has 19.

Reasonable people can disagree about whether it deserves the level of hype it has received, but only the truly ignorant posit that the hype comes solely, or even primarily, from the diversity of its cast.

my wife saw the original cast in nyc and said that this Hamilton did just as well as Lin Manuel.

In fairness, Lin was easily the weakest singing talent among the original cast. Almost everyone that has come after him has been a better vocal performer. However, they frequently aren't considered as good of an actor as Lin in the role.

One of the best musicals of our time, so of course OT downvotes it. Y'all are so predictable, it's sad.

Having men who could fluently read Latin and Greek and were found enthusiasts of Cicero dance around like Hottentots, does not sound like an enjoyable evening.

Great show. Do you remember the name of the actor that played Hamilton? In Houston, we had Austin Scott. He nailed the part...all of the cast were great. It lived up to the hype.

It's ok to have no idea what you're talking about. Just try to talk less when that's the case.

We are going Saturday to see it. I've listened to the cast recording a ton but it's been a while.

This has to be the hottest ticket in Nola ever for a play. My wife and daughter are going next week. Just couldn’t bring myself to pony up for me and the boy to join them.
Y’all enjoy yourselves

Bc the OT sees black people and gets triggered. It's hilarious.
