Is this where i'm supposed to apologize for living in a neighborhood that's deemed "safe" and nearly every house decorates for halloween and hands out candy and the entrance to the neighborhood has a cop to stop those that want to bus people in.

These days there are like 5 Halloweens to go to. Usually your neighborhood does one, the town will do a centralized one, and there's Halloween night for the traditional version. Sprinkle in a church having their own thing.

OP I don't know what you're talking about. Must live in a terrible place.

In my day the candy had razors and stuff. Glad that doesn't happen any more.

Our street and neighborhood gets a permit from the city and blocks off the street and we have 100’s of kids and families.

My house somehow is right in the middle and since we live on a corner it’s a huge meeting spot.

I’ll have homemade (no beans) chili, hot dogs, beer, wine, soft drinks, candy, etc.

We’ve been doing this since we moved in this house 12 years ago.

The best part of Halloween in Houston is that the streets of my 100% white neighborhood are filled with 90% Hispanic children

Not that there’s anything wrong with that

Maybe in some places. My kids love trunk r treats, they can be fun. They've been to at least 3 already (2 schools we attend, church by the house), and we had "tent r treat" camping this weekend, and they'll go trick or treating tonight.

Halloween is on a school night which stinks and typically means kids are done before it's even dark. My hometown would often schedule trick or treating for a non-school night. It's fricking convenient, and more fun in the dark, so who cares? It's not a religious holiday for 99.99% of the country.

To each their own, but I am okay with this.

Using a costume more than once is a bad thing? Lol.

Apparently old people are mad that they’re getting called out on their shite. I know I used to trick or treat and every house would be giving out candy. Tonight I’ll be lucky if my kids get 1/3 of the houses in our neighborhood. All the old folks hiding in their houses to avoid giving out candy and mingling with neighbors

Yep, it’s lots of fatties or bad parents on here too lazy to take their kids trick or treating
