No more Noah's Ark flights

quote:

The U.S. Transportation Department on Wednesday proposed new rules aimed at preventing passengers from falsely claiming their pets are service animals aboard U.S. airline flights

quote:

The department suggests no longer considering an emotional support animal to be a service animal. Federal law allows passengers with disabilities to travel with service animals.

and the big thing....
quote:

In the biggest change, the department suggests no longer considering an emotional support animal to be a service animal

LINK

quote:

Delta noted in 2018 that some passengers “attempted to fly with comfort turkeys, gliding possums known as sugar gliders, snakes” and spiders, while American Airlines in 2018 said it would not allow a wide variety of creatures on flights as support animals including goats, ferrets, hedgehogs, amphibians and reptiles.

I’m gonna be distraught if I can’t bring my service donkey on a flight with me.

Will the neckbeards on this site still be able to fly with their emotional support Waifu?

Huge if true. It’s a travesty that people who just want to take their dogs everywhere can pay a fee and get an “emotional support” vest for their mutt and businesses were too scared to turn them away.

There’s a huge difference between dogs that are trained for a service and these “emotional support” ones, but the emotional support animals have no required training and gave all service animals a bad name.

Don’t even get started extending the bullshite beyond dogs

No wants to listen to your yappy arse chi-poodle, Karen. Leave it at home

There’s at least one on every flight that I’m on, that’s for sure.

The fact that this has to codified by the feds tells you that jackasses bringing weird animals on the plane just did it to see how far they could push and how long they could get away with it.

Too much freedom can be a dangerous thing for some people.

Fortunately there’s usually less chance of them in my section of the plane.

There will be a backlash and lawsuits. Especially on west coast.
