She had a mild stroke about two weeks ago and started having trouble moving around the house, and over the past few days could not even get up at all. So today we had to make the decision to put her down. It was a hard choice, but she is definitely in a much better place right now.

Someone once told me it hurts when someone passes because you care so much, and they were right...

That sucks. Give it a few months and get you another one.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sad. I am sure you gave her a great life, and did the loving thing to give her a humane passing. Still hurts like hell.

Sorry for your loss but it was a very loving decision to let your dog go. I've got four getting gray around the muzzle and dred the day...

That shot has them gone in like 10 seconds. I cried like a baby when i had to put mine down but it was time and there was no suffering. I recorded the last 10 mins on my phone with him while waiting for the vet but i deleted it because it was to hard to watch sorry for your loss

I have a 21 year old and three of her children 16 year olds. We had to put two of the brothers down this year. The mother is one tuff old bitch. We miss them dearly. Sorry for your loss.
