Last time I got shots I was in college and poor so I went to the public health department for boosters before going overseas.

I was dreading it because I hate needles but after waiting 4 hours with little shite children running around the waiting room I was glad to get needles stuck in my arm. I told them to give me two of every vaccine they had so I could never set foot in there again.

At this stage in history, the best medical option is to stick a hollow steel tube in my butt and inject me with some chemicals? It’s hard to believe.

When I was a Navy Corpsman, the person most likely to faint from a simple blood draw, was a male Marine. No shite.

Get injections in both knees and one shoulder regularly. I watch. They dull the pain. Also don't mind when the dentist Novocain's the shite out of me when he's doing work. Needles are your friend!

What's in it is what matters to me. I had the shingles vaccine about 2 months ago and was flat on my back for 2 days.

It takes a lot of courage to admit that.

I used to consider getting injections moderately painful... and then I got old enough to start going to the dentist; where my pain-scale was radically re-calibrated.

Still, as other posters have pointed out, not all injections are created equal. The worst ones I experienced were pre-deployment immunizations. Getting blood drawn for donations isn't really that bad in comparison; it feels more like an inch than a puncture. I think the thumb prick test blotting beforehand hurts more than the main drawing.
