It’s ok, but they had a chicken sandwich years ago that was better. Don’t get the hype for this one...

Uh, I believe you have this thread mixed up with another one. This is the sex vs. sandwich thread.

ETA: Spoke too soon. See post below this one.

If you dont know yet, avoid both popeyes locations on MLK.

lol sounds like common knowledge/wisdom for no matter what part of the country you're at. Luckily for me I was never really big into fast food, McDonald's fries in the 1980s and 1990s were a weakness though.

Was thinking about going to OX on MLK soon, dont know if you've checked that place out. I heard some good reviews

You'll enjoy. I know they get good products and have a clean kitchen.

Stay away from Ava Gene's. Serious rodent issues there over the years. Although they are a top 50 pdx restaurant.

I've been in most kitchens in that city. Rodent guy was there and the manager shushed him as I came towards her.

Luckily for me she's a count and the rodent guy told all.

What is the average wait time? I swear I pulled into the carwash yesterday and looked over at my local Popeye's and there were 5 cars in line. Hell yes I thought. I will finish vacuuming and go wait 7 minutes and get me one. Maybe grab one for the wife and a pickle tickling after.

I vacuum. Get in my car...pull around to the Popeye's and it is 3:15 or so PM. Those 5 cars had not moved and 7 more were added on with 3 coming in hot from the main road, trying to turn in...and blocking right lane traffic. It was as if an entire prison was let loose. In 5 minutes, why not? Went to No Way, dear GOD!

When can I just expect to drive up and order this sandwich like it is no big deal?

The SO and I were near there the other day and she mentioned that one. Glad we were in the mood for japanese instead.

Her and I have basically been trying at least 2 new restaurants a week.

But what has really surprised me are the street stands, a lot to offer and its enjoyable. Was even missing home one day..and came across one dude re-watching the saints and 'slingin gulf shrimp, oyster and soft shell crab poboys out of his stand.

I enjoyed, dude's seasoning game was right on. And to be able to sit down and talk saints with a stranger over gulf shrimp and tartar sauce..I needed that.

I tried to get one for dinner, here in Ruston, and had to settle for a three spicy tenders and rice. Was still good.

They told us they'd have them in the morning, but it will be at least a week before I get back.
