One time I had to stop at the Discount Zone gas station right off the bridge on South Claiborne due to sitting in bad traffic and needing more gas to make it to where I wanted to go. I had to go inside because none of the credit card machines worked. Not good.

I get in there and the Arab dude behind the register proceeds to tell some dude in line who looked like he just busted out of Angola to pull his pants up because it's "against the law" (his pants were basically just above his knees and all his drawers were showing). Angola dude proceeds to say "MAN, get the frick outta here...bitch go back to where the frick you came from!" I was waiting for him to pull out a gun and just spray us all as he walked out. After I had finally gotten my gas and was about 10 miles away I had a good laugh. Only in New Orleans.

The CBD is nowhere near normal pre covid.

I walked down Canal street last Thursday at 2oclock in the afternoon to go to the passport office and the amount of trash hanging out in front of the Sheraton and Marriott and the convenance stores and Popeyes nothing but weed smoking in the air and not one NOPD around.

It literally felt like I was in a Third World country, and yes I’ve been to Third World countries.

Yep, and any money they get won't be to help those whose lives they ruined. It's sickening, there should be angry mobs in the streets over this.

Why the business and professional community is not screaming at the top of their collective lungs about her and JBE is beyond me. They seem to be mute while the city dies on the vine.

I think everyone is just planning their escape at this point.

Was I whining about a private citizen protecting his neighbors property?

Show me where I was whining

Eh, I don't really disagree, but the housing market is booming. Neighbor just threw down 1.6 to buy a place with no intent of moving.

fricking crazy.

I know I’m torn. I’m gonna wait a few more months then throw a for sale sign in the yard and see what happens.

Housing market has been high for a while. Metairie area is insane with people looking to get out of Nola taxes.

Im going down with the ship.

Hopefully they abandon the levees and I have a great warerfront camp for retirement.

Lakeview homes will make a good artificial reef.

Not really sure which big city is a ‘good’ place to be.

I grew up in NOLA - in mid city (Carrollton and Canal) - I live in Baton Rouge now

Not really sure which place is worse

Urban liberals are basically destroying the whole reason for cities before our eyes. It’s the most bizarre fricking thing I’ve ever seen.
