I travel for work all over the place, and I am not asking someone to take my picture every time I am near something I want to take a picture with.
I don't do all the random poses or use the selfie stick, just a quick shot. I don't see the problem?

I'll do it a couple times a year but just to send to my wife and kids when I'm away. I dont participate in social media, that's douchie.

I'm not a fan of it, but I'm often traveling on my own, and I have to take them for the family back home. Otherwise, they would have no pictures of me in faraway lands.

Only time I selfie is when I go hiking. When I'm on top of a mountain, with mountains in the background, the one thing that completes the picture is my face. Sorry I'm not sorry.

We take "selfies" with my 1 1/2 year old sometimes while hanging out on the couch, because he loves playing with the camera. The other day, we found him playing with his toy phone holding it up like he was taking a selfie 
My son can be a douche sometimes though, so there's that.

Sometimes it's just taking a picture for yourself that you allow others to see. Not saying you are wrong, there is a lot of that too. Isn't that was social media is for? Letting everyone know what you are doing?
