Depredation efforts to control nongame nuisance animals is allowed by firearm during daylight hours without a depredation permit in the state of Arkansas.

You are making the same presumptions by releasing your cat and believing that your neighbors don't mind it walking through their yard. I mean did you go around the entire area where you cat could be roaming and ask for permission for your cat to use their yard?

Again, we knew our neighbors personally. There were only 3-4 yards in our immediate proximity that he might cross into. All of those neighbors have either cats, dogs, or both.

But you're right, I didn't go to every neighbor on the street and ask permission just in case my cat happened to step foot on their yard. I don't live in bizarro world, bro.

I would shoot you in the head before you could even pull the trigger because my dog is alot more valuable to me than you are and he's probably smarter than you as well. That's the big deal.

Exactly. Thanks for making my point.

I'm saying it isn't an issue. You're acting like an outside cat is some kind of menace to society. And I'm laughing at you.

Not at all, just asking for outside cat owners to be as reasonable as pretty much every other pet owner in this country.

So surely some of the folks in this thread justify killing their neighbors' cats in the interest of saving birds.

Their posts speak for themselves. That an excessive cat population can be harmful to bird populations is really irrelevant to the discussion of whether killing a cat for stepping on your property is reasonable or justified.

Reasonable in relation to owning a dog is a completely different standard than reasonable in relation to owning a cat.

It's fun to see the attempted rationalization, especially by pretending to be the actual victim. Every outdoor cat is apparently flocking to this guy's house and ripping it to shreds.

And talking to his neighbors or contacting animal control is simply not an option.

You people should put signs in your yard. I would actively avoid living around you. That's a win/win for all parties really.

Again, we don't know if that is the case in this story and it is not something I do personally. I will attempt to get rid of nuisance animals, not every cat on sight or on my property.

That's funny since I specifically mentioned in this very thread about approaching my neighbor with video of the damage his cat caused and of contacting animal control as an option.

What point is that? That you unlawfully entered my property and attempted to harm my family? The point you've been making in this thread is "meh, it's just a cat that won't hurt anyone, who cares if it goes on your property occasionally?" I care. Come on my property and I dont want you there and you'll get shot.

No, we don't. I haven't been referring to the story anymore but rather responding to the sentiments expressed in this thread. But I'm skeptical those guys killed domestic animals after duck hunting and posed with them in pictures because the cats were fricking up there property.

You could be right that they were just some animal cruelty freaks that hate cats, but could also be some idiots taking pics of cats they have been trying to get rid of for awhile.

I mean the "pet owner" could also just be some crazy cat lady that feeds feral cats and claims them as her pets.

We just have too little info on how whacked out these morons were right now.

The point that you are an intellectually inconsistent nutjob who preferentially cherishes one domesticated animal yet cares not about killing other domesticated animals that his neighbors' likewise cherish because they "came on his property." You'd shite your pants in rage if someone shot your dog if he was loose and causing no harm but have no ability to empathize with cat owners and the very obvious difference between the animals in regard to their containability. You have some striking characteristics of a psychopath.

Seriously, your posts standing alone say more about you and your crazy disposition on this issue than anything I can say.

Again, put a sign in your yard warning everyone. Win/win. You keep inconsiderate cat owners away and people know who the crazy person in the neighborhood is.

Oh I agree with all this. I don't know shite about this case outside of the broad summary of the article.

Interesting point in time we're living in when the man that is willing to shoot nuisance cats for constantly coming onto their property is the crazy person as opposed to the idiot weird male figure in the neighborhood that has 10 cats as "pets" and could give two fricks about where they take their shits or bed down at night.

What would be funny is if you were getting ads for live traps and .22 bullets. This would also mean Google had gone way too far...
