You have to realize he has far less to lose in this world than you do. I am not risking my or my family's lifes over a parking spot. It's just not worth it.

How did I know before watching that the guy was going to have a nice tan?

Risk/Reward...
Yeah, just like someone can threaten to punch you in the face if you don't give them your lunch money. Risk/reward. It's only a fricking dollar...but like I said, the choice is up to the individual. It's not necessarily right or wrong one way or another. The only unequivocal right or wrong in this scenario is the a-hole standing in the parking spot.
For you, I guess the mere possibility that non-violently confronting him could result in him getting angry and then who knows what, means the right choice is to keep your mouth shut and avert your eyes and submit to him. Whatever. Do what you want. Like I said, I'm not getting out the car and fighting him. But I'm also not giving in as easily as that guy did. Granted I don't blame the driver one bit for doing what he did.

You seem very rational.
I'm not quite sure how you think that remark is even applicable to the text you quoted.

Yep, and this is one I'd pick.

I have my wife jump out of the car and stand in spots sometimes too. She's white and good looking. I don't care what people think, I get my spot.

Actually, in no way is it right, and not only is it wrong but against the law as well.

Prove it.. and you better not leave her there for too long before the next car offers her a $20 for a quicky

I was talking about the decision to leave or stand up to the situation.

I'd tell the bitch in the passenger seat to shut up and take the spot.
He'll move

He'll move

Honestly, I'd just pull as close to the spot as I could without hitting him and leaving a lane of traffic to pass through. I'd lay on my horn until it made things really awkward for him and drew some attention. When his people showed up to park, I wouldn't leave. After he gave up and walked away, I'd back up and let another car park there and go find another spot or go home.

But I can say for myself that I would've gotten in that parking spot and wouldn't mind bringing in the law to avoid unnecessary confrontation.. The pedestrian has no right to stand there
So irrational.

It could have just as easily been some white trash or tatted up Mexican dude doing that.

This is the perfect approach IMO.

I have a Houston zoo membership. It's a nice place to bring the kids. Just avoid weekends. It's absurd how crowded it gets.

Why is he required to move just because you have a car and he is standing? He was there first and as far as I can tell he isn't breaking any laws or taking up more than one space. He just got to the space before another car but is a car required to occupy a parking space?
If I'm a cop and get called out to the scene and this man was peacefully occupying a space and someone else in a 4000lb car was trying to push him out of the space I think I'm looking at the person in the car as the bully.
I was under the impression that pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way. Am I legally incorrect?
