I read that this morning. He comes off as a self-important a-hole who wants some sort of special treatment and recognition. While our military members (active and retired) deserve our respect, their service does not mean they get to demand anything. It's a fricking McD's. He was really proud of himself for bullying some kid who is working a minimum wage job. If it was the post office or city hall, I might understand why he would be bothered by the flag not being half staff. But I highly doubt McD's employees pay attention to the news and even knew anything about it. But, I guess they're supposed to stop what they're doing to make this guy feel good about himself. What a dick.

It's not a flag at a gov building, dude acted like a little punk. Get over it man, it would have been nice. But as long as the flag isn't upside down or some stupid crap. Whatever

honest question, how are they different than cops? I know military individuals that signed up and never left the states, never saw action, really saw nothing of significance in 4-6 years who then act like they were in the military and deserve more respect than others.

I dont post here often. But, what I'm reading here is exactly what he is talking about. It may be ceremonious, but, believe it or not that flag does mean something to some Americans. The lack of respect and loss of morality is what was shown. You sit behind your mama's computer and trash people. It's really sad that you don't have respect for what that flag stands for. But, I guess that's to be expected from those that haven't had to sacrifice or work for anything.

It has nothing to do with what the "flag" stands for... it has to do with 1st Amendment rights.... McDonalds is a private company and has the RIGHT to do what they please. This guy coming and saying differently is going against their 1st Amendment RIGHT.

Can you say it is insensitive? Yes you can
Can you say McDonalds should have shown more tact? Yes you can

But what they did was not wrong at the end of the day.

Did you sacrifice to protect rights or just the rights you believe in?

Most of my National Guard rants have been deleted here, but this has always been the meat of my arguments..

So you say you fight for rights but when someone exercises one you don't agree with you want to fight?

Here is the dilemma For every a-hole that gets offended that the flag wasn't flown at half mass, there is another a-hole that is offended that the flag is flown at all and another a-hole that would get offended if you flew the flag at half mass. This country is getting full of a bunch of assholes that want to run around filming their hissy fits while sticking their faces in other people's business.

This guy could have driven by and forgotten the whole thing in a matter of minutes but he wanted to try to drum up support for some organization.

Yes, you have the right to say what you like. Saying shut the frick up is rude and unsolicited. You have the right to say it. You have the right to reap the benefits of your right. I hope one day you have the opportunity to exercise your right to free speech in person one day.
Either way, I still think your just a punk kid sitting behind mama's computer or a meth head from Catahoula Parish.
