How does someone buy a gun on the internet without background check? I thought it was illegal to ship a gun. Or if purchased I thought it had to be shipped to ffl dealer. Just wondering. I apologize for being ignorant.

Go to this website.
ATF
Lots of good info in the Q&A section.
Basically, unless it's in state from a non ffl holder, it will need to go to one.

That is the liberal media trying to shove an agenda into your head. All online sales must be shipped to a FFL.
That does not include facebook buy/sell groups where people meet up face to face for sales.

The same is said about gun shows. The only time you don't get checked is private party hand-to-hand sales

Have you tried buying weed online? The Libs have that one right...

That is where the background check must take place. Some pawn shops (Gold and Guns in Gonzales) do this for a fee. $25 is what I paid for my last one.

Unless they are from your home state and agree to meet for a face to face sale any type of sale or shipment of a firearm must go through an FFL and the associated background check.

All guns bought on the internet have to be shipped to a FFL dealer. Yes, a background check is required every time from the FFL dealer.
No, it is not illegal to ship a gun in the mail. For example, I wanted some work done on my rifle. I brought my rifle to the post office. They helped be box it and I paid for shipping and handling. That was it. It was not a big deal. My rifle was shipped back to me when the gunsmith was finished working on it.
