That's pretty normal, not likely you've run enough to really hurt yourself. I don't know what couch to 5K looks like, but just don't increase your base too fast. Skip a day here and there, walk when you need to. And invest in good cushion shoes and if you live somewhere that there is a good running store, let someone who knows what they are doing help you with what type of shoe you need (stability, neutral, etc), and try on a bunch of different ones.

OK, that what I thought you meant. That's pretty slow for you to be having any kind of pain, really.

You need better shoes.

Are you close to 200#?

So two miles took you 29 minutes? If that's the case, running sucks until you get better at it. Just keep doing it and it comes.

Yes, a terrible gasping 29 minutes.

Is the shin pain likely just muscle pain and cool to run through?

Go to a running shoe store and get fitted for some good running shoes.

Just keep at it, give your body some rest. You don't have to run everyday. I started 3 years ago with the Couch to 5k thing, I wasn't fat but rather in poor cardio shape. I could barely run the 1:30 without feeling like I was gonna die. I'm currently training for my first half-marathon.

Invest in the proper running shoe
Don't overdo things at the beginning
Keep running

Since you're running on gravel you're probably going to have some sore auxiliary muscles for awhile as they build up the strength and ability to rapidly stabilize, but I'm not expert.

Start slower.

You can lose this weight and improve your health and life, but you won't do yourself any benefit if you get hurt.

Dude, running is a waste of time and potentially hazardous. Focus on eating as few carbs as possible and lift weights. The number of calories you burn by quickly walking 2 miles is negligible.

Why heavy?

I've got some etnies I just bought that are extremely comfortable.

I just figured lighter was better.

Like others said, you need shoes. I would suggest Brooks glycerin but you need to be properly fitted. After that, just push through it and don't run too fast. You can always get faster later. Stay at a slow pace until you can run for 30 minutes straight, then start increasing speed

I never had this problem. I never understood it either. I have worn shirts everyday of my life and my nipples never bleed

Running on a rubber track can help. But at your weight you can expect pain. Great luck.

I would suggest tracking your calories and losing a bunch of weight and then maybe add some running after that. Until then, walk or bike for exercise.
