Every dude I see stoled up at the beach always has a good looking chick with them. I’ve thought about getting into shape but it’s just so difficult to workout.

It's perfectly respectable as a hobby, although I've always thought I'd rather be elite at something more interesting.

I've typically found these guys to be walking contradictions, though. They're striving to be the epitome of masculinity while being as image/vanity obsessed as schoolgirls.

I understand someone being fit, but why would an adult want to look ‘big’? Clothes don’t fit right, they look out of place, and frankly, look worse than if they were just the average dad bod.

I'm a 40 something with a dad bod and I say good for a dude that wants to work out. I ain't gonna work that hard. Maybe it's health, maybe he's trying to slay younger women. Good for him either way.

all swole up just to walk around an office all day? Honestly, it looks stupid.

Doesn't look as bad as this walking heart attack wheezing his way around the office all day.

Science shows that 84% of men who admit to having a dad bod are actually to the tune of 60 lbs overweight. You're not a dad bod, you're just fat.

I think using steroids is pathetic. But, otherwise who cares if a guy wants to be "swole"?

I agree about the clothes. This and guys whose shirt comes off way before any sweating begins.

Get over yourselves. Wear an XL, not a medium shirt.

But as far as the age, nothing is wrong with being fit at any age.

Kinda me, not that bad but I am either muscular or I look fat. Once you built muscle you have to work out or you get flappy muscles that look just like fat. Don’t jog so just go to gym for few hours few times a week.

So its the ex body builders are probably what you are talking about it.

I don’t know if you would define me as “swole up” but I’m 41 and in the last year have gained more muscle than I’ve ever had. Seems to me that gaining muscle in old age is probably more useful than when you are younger. I’ve had back problems disappear because of getting stronger. I’ve got 4 kids including two very young. They are depending on me not to fall apart health wise over the next couple of decades. We should get better with age, not worse. Also, I love my wife enough to not make her grow old with a guy that looks like he’s given up on life.
