I love 80s action figures, but I have no desire to own them. I don't like the clutter., I think I have the hoarder gene, so I prefer to find them, buy them, and sell them for profit. I've been doing it for 20 years now.

Good money can be made if you know what to look for. Some of the weapons for the vintage star wars figures are literally worth more than gold.

My mom saved all my childhood toys, and my kids still play with the GI Joe, Thundercats, He-man, and Star Wars stuff.

Is it anyway acceptable to have action figures.

It's a good thing that you checked here, because it's important that all men have the same interests and dress and act the same.

Seriously, do whatever the frick you want. Every dude-bro that is in here snickering has the full catalog of Spice Girl CDs or a lug nut off of every truck that they've owned or some other obscure bullshite interest.

Life's too short to live your life to appease others. Find yourself a Luke Skywalker with double-telescoping lightsaber and have a blast.

Are you working with a seller? Are they carded or loose? Do they have weapons? Do you know how to spot reproduction packaging and weapons?

What is north of $10,000 loose going to get you? Variants? Graded? Last 17? Droids and Ewoks animated figures? Double telescoping?

I'm including the vehicles/ships also. But yeah some of that stuff. A graded DT can cost $5,000 alone. A Vinyl cape Jawa about the same maybe less.

When I started in the oilfield I'd get bored at rigs and go buy a Lego set occasionally. I was driving a company truck and flew home so I just left all my stuff in the truck at the office. Think I ended up with 14 different Lego city sets in that truck

I had a friend who did it until he got married. He had all of the small original Star Wars stuff. and bought all of it that came out before and right after the 1st prequel. He also collected football, baseball and basketball Starting Lineups. I went to a show with him one time and bought a Leonard Marshall, a Carlos Carson and an Eric Martin SLU figures. I liked having the LSU guys, even if they were in Giants, Chiefs and Saints uniforms. I had a couple of Shaq pieces too. I had the one of him dunking in a purple LSU uniform.

He had a young friend that also collected that had an apartment full of Star Wars stuff. He had Millennium Falcon that was about three feet long. Had it and some other ships hanging from the ceiling in his living room. He had some other models of ships and figures in a glass display case in the living room too. He had unopened figures stacked from the floor to the ceiling in his dining room, He had four or five sets of opened figures, ships and backgrounds of scenes from the movies that he had constructed in his bedroom. If he ever gets married, he'll be able to add some cash to their lives when she makes him get rid of it. My friend told me some of the individual pieces in the glass case were worth thousands of dollars.

Having a collection is OK if the basis is financially driven or something you plan on giving to your kids one day.

If you plan to play with them and reenact battle scenes...well then you might seek professional help.

Go for it Broke. I occasionally buy Star Wars LEGO sets and don’t feel even the slightest bit guilty doing so.

I'm thinking of rebuilding my childhood collection but it will cost north of $10,000 to do it.

If you just want Star Wars, you might want to look into some of the newer stuff not Wal-Mart figures but higher end figures and statues. Some places cater to collectors like bigbadtoystore.com and companies like Hot Toys makes a lot of Star wars figures for collectors. The detail is amazing, almost life like.

Han Solo & Chewbacca

Something you might like being a Star Wars fan.
