Police need to shoot their asses if they try to destroy the monument. I'm not for what happened long ago, but history is history and destroying public monuments that reflect our past is not going to fix anything.

Those statues were put there by the people who made New Orleans into a great city. It's fitting that they be torn down by the people who have ruined large parts of it.

Is advising the NOPD to stay away while they commit a crime considered a threat to police? I read it as a threat.

Just for fun to think about, how would you tear down a statue that size with a group of people. Remember the square is fenced in so there is no way to get a motorized vehicle near the statue. Pulling and ropes? Some type of explosive? A missile or grenade? Scaffolding and sledge hammers?

Yeah but the difference is media and white guilt crowd is also all in for tearing down monuments. Regardless of what the monument's true symbolism and its history, they want that motherfricker torn down!
I just feel like they have this expectation that it will be a memorable event and the world will join hands and cry in unity. It's like they expect this glorious thing to happen. I think they're setting themselves up for a major letdown. And will be defacing a classic image of New Orleans in the process.
How many times have you seen a photo of New Orleans and what is the main image you usually see? Jackson Square with St. Louis Cathedral behind it.
