Tried this on the travel board without much luck. Is there anyone on here that could give any insight on schools in the area? Looking for personal experiences not what we have found on google. We are looking on the north side of Greenville from Pickens to Greer and maybe the Powdersville area.

Was just there for the weekend. City looked super clean and barely saw any kind of degeneracy. Lively downtown. Of course they’ve had the same Republican mayor for the last 30 years.

They’re also growing incredibly so the wokeness isn’t far behind I’m sure once the idiots move in.

ETA: this doesn’t answer your question but I wouldn’t be surprised if the schools are OK. I am interested as well.

If you are over there, pull into the firehouses. The firemen are the boots on the ground and will give you better advice than any else.

Greenville Co. schools are the epitome of “you get what you put into it”. If you all are involved parents, your kids will be fine. If you all see public school as a daycare, you're not going to have a great time. I’d go Greenville Co, ACSD1 (Powdersville), Pickens Co. in that order. Greenville Co. also offers pupil placement, but it’s competitive.

Saying all that, we’re full, but we’d love to have you visit.

My daughter (no pics) is a Speech Language Pathologist in Greenville City Schools. Send me some questions and I'll pass them along to her.

Spent three years there, elementary to middle school for 2, but it was in five forks area.

Riverside high district seemed to be what everyone wanted, but if I recall correctly, you can enroll your students in a school of choice out of your residency district...but you are responsible for transport.

Just curious, which side of Greenville are you on? We live in that Five Forks/Greer grey area and traffic is worse now than any time it has ever been in the 25+ years we’ve been here.

Too many lights on Woodruff to be sure, the new 385 didn't fix things up by the shops?

Moved from Greer 6 yrs ago when it was getting bad. Visit occassionally but traffic is an absolute nightmare these days.

Thank God we found Fountain Inn just in time….

We went custom on some land, but yes there is a fair amount of that the further south and east you go in the Five Forks area.

My SIL lives in Greenville and her kids are idiots, but I suspect that has less to do with the schools

I remember meeting a lady who had lived there and she told me it was a nice conservative place. Always had it as a possibly place to move

My wife (no pics) is from Greer and her sister (no pics) and husband are teachers at Greer and Travelers Rest. I'll ask her what all the schools in the area are like.

You're usually safe sticking with schools that have "Alternative" as part of their name.
