but traffic is an absolute nightmare these days.

Uhhh what?? I moved to Greenville from Atlanta and live in Five Forks. What people call traffic here is a slow day in the burbs in Atlanta. Now the real problem is nobody knows how to drive. Going 35 in a 45 is common.

As far as schools go, I’ve got 3 in Greenville County schools. They are good up until you get to high school. Then it is a crap shoot and all the shitty schools merge with the good schools. Like someone else said, you get what you put into it and you’ve got to be an engaged parent.

The way I have been looking at it is by locations based on the high schools. And lower than that there are just too many. The thought is find a high school district in a location we are interested in. Then look at the elementary and middle schools that feed that HS to get a little more precise. Our preferred #1 are is Traveler’s Rest but the HS doesn’t seem to be as good as some of the others, at least on google results. The other schools, and overall areas, we are curious about are the Wren/Woodmont/Powdersville area as well as the Wade Hampton/Riverside area.

Looking for input on any of those schools and the areas in general. I know there are too many variables to address completely, just hoping to get a little better feel. For reference, we live in near LSU and have a 1st grader in private school in Baton Rouge.
