Same here. As I see it, there are 3 options at this stage of my life: A little murder, a lot of murder, or move out of the city. After some deliberation, I moved to a town of 3000.

The world population is about to take sharp turn in the down direction.

The war in Ukraine is about to spread. War in Arminia has started.

And it looks like Africa is about to have a regional war as the puppets of France (ECOWAS) Fight the old French colonies that are trying to remove France from its control.

Think do not look bright. War and it's affects are going to continue to grow.

When you prioritize the earth instead of it's inhabitants you end up here.

Can someone translate this?

Agrarian societies have a shitload of kids because they're free labor. When people move from the farm to the city to take manufacturing or office jobs, the kids become major expenses so they have fewer of them. Birth rates have been declining in the industrialized world for a few decades. In fact, China's population is likely to be half of what it is currently by the end of the century. Japan and Europe aren't far behind.

Why does everyone try to assign some political philosophy or agenda to basic math? Birth rates are declining in the industrialized world and it has nothing to do with politics.

IDK why you got all the downvotes. Birth rates have decreased steadily in literally every country that has upped its standard of living through industrialization for the past two centuries. Most projections show global population flattening and then starting a slow decline by the latter part of this century.

Because everyone on here wants to view the world and everything that happens in it through their own ideological filters. It never occurs to them that we can experience natural economic and demographic phenomena independent of politics.

Interesting. I agree with the founder of Greenpeace. At least on this topic. I feel a little dirty.

First, I'm not a lefty. Secondly, industrialization and urbanization are very common economic and demographic terms that have nothing to do with any particular ideology. Sorry that you need a dictionary to keep up.

It has something to do with politics, but it’s not wedge identity woke bs. It has everything to do with economics. If you follow historical economic trends, the average age of first child and first marriage in Europe directly correlates with changes in cost of living. People marry later and have fewer children when relative cost of living rises, making having a family less affordable. The current trend matches historical trends for when economic times are REALLY bad, I’m talking pre-Revolutionary France bad. The metrics in the United States (which are currently some of the best in the developed world) are actually significantly worse than France or Russia pre-revolution. Housing is unaffordable, food has tripled in price in recent years, supply chains are constantly being interrupted, and a very sizable percentage of the young male population has close to zero chances of ever marrying or having children. When times are this bad, that demo must be killed off by war or they revolt en-masse historically. We’re not just approaching danger territory. We‘re so far beyond it that economists and historians are literally racking their brains to figure out why the crisis hasn’t started yet or if it’s already underway.

EVERY socio-economic metric is trending towards a MASSIVE crisis. Those who survive it will inherit a golden age, but the developed world looks primed to experience on par with the Crisis of the 17th Century and the chaos that ensued in the wake of the Plague of Justinian in the 6th Century.

I think most of them are too busy smoking weed, getting drunk, getting fat, and playing video games to give a shite. The dudes that don't drink, smoke weed, or play video games and spend a few hours a week in the gym will have plenty of opportunities with the ladies.

No surprise this got downvoted around here. The only thing wrong with this statement is that it isn't about to but is currently and has been happening

I have no comment on the subject other than to say that it is quite the turn for some here when they have come to view Greenpeace as an ally.

He's far away from those greenpeace roots now. Anti-climate change is this dudes raison d'etre now.

So the ideological overlap is quite consistent.

Former person in a liberal org is just cover, much like a lot of the "centrists" on here to the other direction.

That’s because carbon bullshite fighting climate change has soaked up all of the money and attention that would otherwise go to actual threats to the environments and habitats of the planet like degrading aquifers, toxic waste spills, garbage patches in the ocean, logging the rainforest, fertilizer runoff causing algae blooms and hypoxia, invasive species like water hyacinths and kudzu, etc.

Yet they never do. The obvious logical answer for anyone espousing fewer people on the planet is to reduce the population by one but they prefer that other people die instead of them.

Truly vile, despicable people.
