Was there earlier. It was fine in the shade with a nice breeze blowing. Family has already obliterated the box of pastries we brought back.

It’s not packed and it’s nice in the shade today.

Was a good time last night but yea, the lines were long. Moved semi briskly though. Most of the items are pretty quick to serve and move on, so despite a lot of people it wasn’t like fried chicken fest where the lines were at times an hour plus

And even that wasn’t bad. I just checked my texts- 15 mins from “wow this lines long” to “I’m next to order”

I went. No Goatburgers. My wife (no pics) asked one of the committee members why. She stated they buy the meat from Greece. Shipping has gone up so much they would have been really expensive.

Sounds like that defeats the purpose of people being there

There’s plenty of other food.

I’ve went to GF most of my life and never even had the goatburger

You must really like goat burgers

And nothing else.

Like none of the other couple dozen Greek foods available.

Damn. That makes me sad I went on Friday. But Friday has been my traditional day to go. And my kids had soccer and bday party today. And I had to mow.

¡Opa!

Today is the first time I noticed see that that changed the name. I grew up on Robert E Lee Blvd and nothing will ever, ever change that. We lost our family home in Katrina and only one of my immediately family ever retuned to NOLA permanently. What shite show the years after Katrina were for my parents.

Good people in all of Lakeview but the neighborhood by Cabrina pre Katrina had some rough edges. However, the Chinese Tea Garden, Mr. Wedding cake and Spiders Web offset all of that.

I drank my first beer at The Barrel when I was 15. What a great time to be alive. Man I miss those days.

No feta fries
No hot dog
No goat burger

Pretty much a big FU to anyone coming with younger kids.

I grew up right down the street and went to the first one which was basically a church fair with a Greek theme.

Well, it is the Greek Orthodox church, should they have an Italian theme instead?

No rock wall or anything beside face painting.

But that’s their call. Any fair will have its ups and downs over the years.
