If you're wealthy then Nola; if poor, Denham Springs.

TN is awesome as I've been born and raised here for 33 years. Only advice is avoid Memphis/Shelby County at all costs, if you move to Nashville don't live in Davidson County but commute instead, and don't live in Madison County where I live currently (Jackson). Public schools are terrible in all 3 due to demographics. Other than that the other 92 counties are pretty awesome.

Ft.Worth is great. The manure crack is a cliche. The downtown, river, cultural district, and down south around TCU are all nice areas but I don't know about schools. I live far north and it is nice too.

For a place not mentioned yet (I don't think), Richmond, VA, is about a million people and has very varied neighborhoods. It is an old city with a lot of atmosphere, hilly, a lot of big hardwoods.

It is a comfortable drive from the mts, DC, and the Outer Banks.

North Georgia. Just outside of Chattanooga. You still have Chattanooga but schools are much better for your kids.

I assume that you meant weather. That's very subjective. My least favorite time of the year in South Louisiana is July through September. I'd much rather be in a place that has four seasons (with as few migrants from the Northeast and California as possible).

St Paul, MN is cold. They do offer a lot of activities for kids if you can put up with the weather.

Pass Christian/Long Beach.

Good public schools, much lower cost of living, and you still have Louisiana as an easy day trip.

Huntsville,al - good schools and good job market(NASA, etc) perfect size (for me) and even scenic with some smaller mountains.

Omaha, ne - Nice town about as big as BR without the traffic or murder. Schools kinda suck except really nice areas for some reason. I think the country is pretty, super hilly with nice bike trails...Nice downtown and of course the CWS.

I think Birmingham is very nice, but I've only visited once. Would move there in a heartbeat.

spend a summer here first, you will quickly realize that all the tourists make it unbearable.
