I had that idea for a cartoon. Basically a total Bubba, but a Sunni. Always getting in to hijinks with the local Baptists. Uneasy Rider meets Al-Jazeera.

Let's see...wait, I have nothing. There's a reason I play in the rhythm section.

Here’s one I wrote about...shite, 7 years ago? My brother was still alive. He was gonna learn guitar and we were gonna record it

"Homemade wine and a dozen roses"

Verse 1:
Well I've been working out here on this oil rig,
For 6 weeks straight in the Gulf of Mexico,
And the last thing that she said as I was leavin',
Was "I really don't give a damn if you come back home."
When he's all alone a man can do some thinkin'
By myself out here so many sleepless nights,
And I'm thinking of a way to say I'm sorry,
Gonna do all that I can just to make it right.

Refrain:
I'm bringing homemade wine,
And a dozen roses,
Singing all those songs,
That we used to know,
I'm gonna change your mind,
With a dozen roses,
And I'm down on my knees and I'm beggin' baby please don't go.

Verse 2:
Well these helicopter rides can take forever,
Out here on this sea of endless blue,
As we’re headed back to land across the water,
The only thing that’s on my mind is getting home to you
Your lovin’ arms are just what I’ve Been craving,
And as soon as we make land I’m homeward bound,
Hope my old truck will make it down the highway,
Got the pedal to the metal ain’t no sheriff gonna slow me down,

Refrain:
I'm bringing homemade wine,
And a dozen roses,
Singing all those songs,
That we used to know,
I'm gonna change your mind,
With a dozen roses,
And I'm down on my knees and I'm beggin' baby please don't go.

Vs 3:
My hands are wet with sweat my heart is racing,
Doing 80 as I cross the parish line,
Riding shotgun next to me’s a dusty bottle,
Label on the side reads muscadine,
Finally I pull into the driveway,
Walking up the steps my heart is pounding hard,
I look down and see my hands are bleeding,
I picked every single rose in Mama’s yard.

Refrain:
I'm bringing homemade wine,
And a dozen roses,
Singing all those songs,
That we used to know,
I'm gonna change your mind,
With a dozen roses,
And I'm down on my knees and I'm beggin' baby please don't go.

Vs 4:
I walk inside and all the lights are burning,
But there’s no sound of footsteps on the floor,
Just a note left there upon the kitchen table,
Saying “sorry, I don’t love you anymore”

I’m drinking homemade wine,
And stomping on some roses,
Singing every sad song,
That I ever knew,
I couldn’t change your mind,
With a dozen roses,
And all the money in the world,
Couldn’t keep you true.

Anyone else have any song ideas? I’m in a writing mood

I'm trying to lay out the chorus you have written, but it's too long by quite a bit. Do you know what '4-chord wonder' is? Even if you don't stick to the chords themselves it's a good metric for what constitutes as "catchy."

3-4 timing is the way the rest of the song is written, but the chorus is basically just a poem. Try to tap your feet, hands, whatever to a beat that matches the verses while trimming down the chorus.

Email me

I have a bunch recorded with the rhythm and vocals, just no music. It would give you a better idea of how it’s supposed to go

I'll warn you up front, I've always been a hard rock/screamo band guitarist.

That being said, I listen to country more now than I ever have and would enjoy playing it - especially in a classical sense. I was a rhythm guitarist before I was lead, and can still tear up an acoustic.

Email incoming...

Ever heard Sabaton? I wrote a bunch of songs about wars in that genre too. My range is pretty wide

Email sent.

Don't expose me, you easily could between my email address and first name.

Between the two you should be able to confirm I'm legit.

Yeah but I'm also a federal agent at the same time, so I'm not necessarily cool with revealing my identity to just anybody.

Music is a hobby now, not a living like it used to be. For any doubters, you have talent.

Let's do this shite. OT, prepare thine anuses.
