Baton Rouge’s 400 lb Al Sharpton wannabe. Actually more openly racist than Al.

Dude is about 35, lives with his stepmom, and does social media videos from his uninsured Tahoe in her driveway because he has to steal the neighbors’ WiFi.

Oh...and he’s a shakedown artist who runs a fake business.

That about covers it.

Sooooo this billboard is about murders in BR but some how they happen because the city doesn’t give contracts for businesses in NBR? Am I reading his pissing and moaning correctly? Does he realize businesses don’t flourish in NBR because of the crime there? But I’m guessing the crime is because people are poor. No one ever takes personal responsibility for that part of town. :vomit:

He is on the NBR economic development district board.

What has he or the board done to bring economic development to NBR?

My guess is that he brought a lot of business to Sonic until he started bitching about the lack of bacon on a bacon double cheeseburger.

Whose job is it to investigate and solve crime to protect the city? The police.

March 2020 headline from The Advocate: BRPD has solved more murders in 2020 than have actually occurred so far in 2020

It's difficult to solve homicides when you have such a large influx over such a short period of time. Add to that the reality of the community where the vast majority of these occur are normally loathe to assist police (whether it's distrust of the police, fear of retaliation, both or something else).

quote:

It’s cheap to blame someone else, in an election year at that.

Irony.

It's the cops' fault North Baton Rouge is annually responsible for the vast majority of homicides in the city and parish? Are they putting the weapons into the hands of these murderers? Are they forcing them to kill?

The fault lies squarely and solely at the feet of those doing the murdering. Anything else is just an attempt to blame police for the lack of restraint shown by these criminals in order for the agitators to do nothing more than promote themselves.

quote:

This is also what happens when the police don’t live in your city. They don’t care if they harm the cities progress, because they get to drive out of town to go home. They don’t care if they slam Black bodies on the ground and kneel in their body to show excessive force. They’d rather arrest protestors for peaceful demonstration than actually build relationships and create safer communities. That’s why we are saying defund the police.

BWAAAHAAHAAHAAHAA!!! First it's "police aren't doing enough" and then it's "defund them". Those two stances are opposing themselves as defunding the police removes more resources which means they'll have fewer officers and fewer tools to investigate and solve the homicides committed by these criminals.

You can't have both, pick one and stick with it.

quote:

If we want to discuss crime, let’s discuss economic development. Crime follows poverty and inequity.

Yes, let's do that. Businesses are loathe to open in high-crime areas. NBR wants jobs? The residents there need to stop committing so much more violent crime than the rest of the city/parish and jobs will be far more likely to come back.

Same with education. Stop lowering the bar so students actually EARN a degree instead of settle for just getting one they can't even read. Clamp down on the bullshite philosophy that getting good grades, showing respect to teachers and officers is "acting white".

Want jobs? That's the work the community needs to do to get jobs to locate there. Until those issues are diligently resolved by the residents of NBR, things will continue to remain the same.

quote:

We are listening.

No you're not. All you do is yell because you see no other way than your own (and you'll refuse to entertain anything other than that). The fact that you're here trying to do nothing but blame police for the actions of the residents who almost all meet the same criteria of:

1. On drugs
2. Come from a broken home
3. Low education
4. Unemployed or working only low or no-skilled jobs

I'll guarantee you've already done your best to ignore the reality of the points listed above or use the weakest of stances to excuse or dismiss it all.

I notice that too. You can bash white guys all day long on here and the posts remain but others are being deleted.

Since your thread is explicitly about billboards drawing attention to murders in Baton Rouge, but you immediately go off on a panty-bunching fit about police, how many of those murders were carried out by police officers?

And, is the billboard not true?

Who’s job is it to let them do their job?

You’re blaming police officers for the failures of politicians and more importantly, a breakdown in society?

They’re not magical creatures who get to make all your problems go away. They’re police officers, and we still handcuff them from doing their job effectively. They’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t. You get mad when they come down hard on criminals and known hotbeds for criminal activity, screaming racism, profiling, and brutality. AND THEN when they don’t, you claim they don’t care about people, or the crime, being callously disconnected to the realities in these neighborhoods.

WHAT IS IT? WHAT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY?

The problem is simple. There’s a criminal culture that America has fed and raised through glorifying it in the entertainment industry, by refusing to be parents, by giving excuses for it, and simply by not giving it the attention it deserves when we talk about black lives mattering.

This is a cause and effect. Society fails to raise children properly, and you have a breakdown in society. Society doesn’t champion traditional norms and values, and we give birth to a degenerate culture where trashy is glorified, and decency ridiculed. This is simply SOCIETY’S problem it created.

Maybe if we didn’t award 95% of contracts to white men in Baton Rouge, we could decrease the income gap and employ more Black men.

The billboard did not mention the race of the murderers or the victims yet Gravy assumed black. Guilty conscience?

Maybe if we didn’t have a police force filled with racist white men, many who over police to harm Black

Anecdotical evidence on my part here, but I’ve literally heard the opposite of this from white BRPD officers that said they are the minority in the department.

I wouldn’t suggest racking your brain over his comments. He has no ability to analyze statistics much less look at anecdotal instances through a lens of reasonability.

He just throws out juvenile buzzwords that have little to no relation to the issue.

Unfortunately, Chamber’s view of discussion is quite different than the traditional definition.
