He really is a sick person. It seems like this was a surprise by everyone who worked with him, but to be that sick, it is hard to believe he didn't show no signs at all. He had to do or say things at some point that would seem questionable to the people around him.. But I guess you don't really think "the other day he made a comment that was strange.
