Most doctors are shite now don't listen when you tell them what's going on just want your money then move on to next patient.
GPs are a turn and burn operation now. Volume over quality.

Technology is the only thing that can save us with Healthcare. Doctor's offices need an app we can use on our phones to track real time appointments. There is no reason with modern technology we should be waiting around so long for a doctor's appointment.

How can I get the first appointment and still wait an hour?
Doctor uses that time to bang the assistants

The insurance company pays a flat rate for a given procedure. The doctors can't charge more for providing a better customer service. So, typically, they don't provide one.
ding ding ding.
I know some docs who do cash only practice. you can get your attention and they'll be on-time and cater to your needs. but it's gonna cost you.

If I had to double book customers to insure I got revenue for 1, marginal revenue at best (I cant imagine medicaid is a big profit maker), hell yes I would.
My guys have 38 stops scheduled today. If half resulted in zero profit there is no way I could continue that business model.
Every bit of resource spent to manage a non revenue producing client/customer/patient costs the quality across all the clients/customers/patients.

They've had it for years, it's called a telephone. Even tho he's not a real doctor, my dentist office will call patients if they are running behind and give patients the option to reschedule. Some will keep the appointment anyway but at least they know that going in.

Hard to argue with this.
But, it does seem like a lot of doctors especially specialists are just gunning to work as few days as possible. It is amazing to hear the games they play with working 12 hour + days and doing call days and they only actually go to work a week a month.

I have found this has gotten much better in the last 5-10 years.
A long time ago (in the 80s) I used to use a doctor who did not take appointments, first come first served situation unless it was an emergency. He also charged $20 per visit and would make house calls to check on established patients when returning from rounds he made at local hospitals.
Those guys don't really exist anymore. He used the GI bill to pay for medical school, he had a chemical engineering degree but was a medic in Korea and that was when he decided to go back to school for medicine.

That actually seems plausible since he had a couple of smoke shows working there

So what you're saying is doctors just want that cash and they don't care who they frick over to get it?
Then don't go to the doctor if you hate it so much! Nobody is forcing you..
Blame it on government bullshite, noncompliant patients, and overall health of Americans but don't blame the physicians.
Out of all of the high paying Professions out there, physicians are way less likely to be in that career for the money. It simply takes to long and a bunch of money just to get that title and start making money.
Stop being so ignorant and just blaming the easy thing instead of actually knowing what it takes to run a medical practice...

Always book either the first appointment of the morning or the first one after their lunch break. Less chance of them running late at that time as opposed to the 11:20 appointment

Because most "Doctors" think they are gods and you are at their mercy. I'm starting to believe anyone can get thru medical school, do absolutely no research after and take their prescription pad out and give out pills. A good Doctor is very hard to find. And to their credit, they have to deal with bullshite administrations and their "rules" making their job even harder. A Dr. I know recently mentioned that if they are with a trainee and say anything remotely against gender affirming care or try to disuade parents, they can be fired.

Yuuuup. As the patient, you can always choose another doctor.
My GP has a newer model that is basically in house concierge medicine. I text/call when needed. If I need to be seen in person, i get in very quickly and never wait more than one or two minutes once in office. Never feel rushed at all.
Again, as the patient, you get to choose your doc. Your body, your choice, amirite?

Yea I am so sure you are the brilliant one that has found a way around this that nobody else in America has.
Again you are just showing more ignorance every time you post.

I’d consider finding a different doctor.
