Red wasps love to build nests inside the seats and dash and give you a hell of a surprise. I’ve jumped off a moving tractor before and just let it go into the pond

I have a diving board for my pool and at the beginning of the season one year I walked out to the end of it and stood there for a minute…they had built a nest back up under the base of the board. I got stung 6 or 7 times before I even knew what was happening. If I had been racing Michael Phelps to the other end of the pool, he wouldn’t have had a chance

Forgot how hard they were to kill.

Since the females can’t fly I leave them be. They squeak when being killed.

The females sting, the males don't. The males are winged and smaller.

I know two things for absolute certain:

1. I have been stung by multiple of the big solid red wasps at once.

2. If it hurts worse than that, I don’t want it.

Most definitely.

When I was a kid my brother and I were walking along some railroad tracks near my grandparents' house when we saw an old lamp near the tracks. My older brother, who was ahead of me, kicked it aside and we kept walking.

Almost instantly it felt like I had several needles being stuck in my leg, looked down and there were several pissed off red wasps going to town. They had built their nest in the lamp.

It hurt something awful, so much so that I remember shrieking like a little girl.

My legs went numb and it was difficult to walk. Pain didn't last real long, but it took a few hours for the swelling to subside and the redness to go away.

Just a godawful memory.

I was stung by a Yellow Jacket a few years ago. Very painful. Left scar on my arm which staid for a few years.
My Neighbor is allergic to bee sting. One Yellow Jacket stung him, he tried to make it to Dr, about ten minutes away. After about five minutes he passed out, totaled his Pickup truck.
