Friendly reminder! Never buy a vehicle or equipment that’s being advertised as not running due to a small problem. You always come out better if it was “I don’t know what’s wrong with it” instead of sensors, carburetors, pumps and other shyt that’s easy to fix. 99% of the time it’s a scam. Cause what grown arse man can’t get these “small & inexpensive” problems fixed. Especially if the report is that more expensive shyt’s been recently done.

Most people are kind of dumb and talk too much, they will let you know what's wrong with whatever you're buying if you know how to read between the lines.

What's the price of scrap metal these days. Was around .08 a lb. You can re-coup a little. Sell the tires, the blades, and anything that's worth selling, especially the working carb.

Good to know. Kick the OP that $800 to make him whole. Doesn't sound like $800 is a hardship for you.

So this guy has to subsidize OP's lack of common sense and poor decision making skills?

That sucks, but if someone is telling you all this brand new shite they've put on and it still won't start, that's a pretty giant red flag waving in your face telling you to just pass and keep looking.

Just get a Predator engine from Harbor Freight if the body and deck is solid. Carb needs cleaning, ran when parked, just needs a starter, etc, are all code for don't buy it unless you're prepared for the worst case scenario.

Oh good. Somebody bit.

Better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

He's trivializing the amount when he says "I'd just eat it". I agree the OP screwed up and likely has to take his medicine, but $800 isn't nothing.

You can buy a new motor for $1900 installed. You’re going to end up saving $300 vs a new one.

I'll give you $3.50 for it!

Get it to a guy to clean out the carbeurator, and they tell me that the carbeurator is perfectly clean, but the motor on the lawn mower is shot. They told me that the lawn mower is pretty much not worth shite.

I get in touch with the person who sold it to me, and he basically says that it sucks, but I knew the lawn mower didn't start. Then stops responding to anything.

(I'll work on posting pics of exactly what he told me).

frick that piece of shite.

My favorite thing to see on FB marketplace is some dude trying to sell a piece of shite boat and saying its only got one small simple thing wrong with it, but he "just doesn't have the time to work on it." MFer if you were gonna get 20k for a running boat vs 10k you'd make the time for it.

Some people have those means. Some people don't.

Just because someone has it to lose does not mean they need to contribute to someone else's garbage choices.

Democrat.

Even better now. The fool is trying to educate me. Let me drill the point home:

Neither you, nor I, nor anyone else should be telling other people what amount of their money is a trivial amount. My statement was sarcasm meant to highlight his fallacy of projecting what he can afford onto others.

You're smarter than I thought. Thanks for proving my point.

Gotcha. My teenage daughter does the same thing where I'm supposed to know what she means because she's a kid and can't always articulate her thoughts properly.

My deepest apologies.

A passive aggressive, veiled insult. Making a solid argument would be a better option.

Sounds like you would be better at parsing out sarcasm with all that experience, but this one was lost on you.

My verdict is you're too ready to jump all over something and apply unsubstantiated labels instead of thinking about it first. I wouldn't qualify that as properly articulate thoughts.

As much your fault, but they are shite people for not giving your money back.

I do have a running Husqvarna mower and one of the only ways to kill it, is to never change the oil. That could have been simply checked before buying it & I bet is the problem.

Sounds like whoever you sent out there, fricked ya.
