Got a text the other day asking if I would like to wrap my vehicle for $800 a month? Curious I asked for more info, because I've heard of people making decent side money with an advertisement on their car.
So I simply asked for info.
Instead of info I got a check which was not cashed or deposited!!
Today the mailman knocks early with an Express envelope. Someone with a return address in Beverly Hills.
I open it and out pops a check for $3500. $800 is mine the rest I need to transfer to the guy doing the wrap.
L.O.L
So if I deposit it, it clears in 24 hours, I pay out $2700 then it bounces or a stop payment. I lose $2700.
I look at the envelope again and it was mailed from Illinois. I look up the phone number I'm to text and it comes up " Moscow Mini Storage " in Idaho.
Total scam. Reported to the USPS Inspectors.
I want to try and get these guys, I bet a lot of people see that $3500 check and think dollar signs. Imagine how easy it is to scam older people with this crap.

No way you really fell for this

You can’t seriously be that stupid right?
Posted on 1/13/20 at 12:30 pm to Napoleon
Wait a minute. You actually deposited the check?

Anytime someone tells you to deposit a large check in your account and transfer the excess amount to another account, it's a scam.
The Gmail email address should've also made you suspicious.
I cannot believe you fell for this.

Why did you deposit and now just cash the check?

Well your first clue should have been the use of the word "kindly."
No one uses that british english shite here in the US.

Why do you have a McDonalds alert on your phone?
Posted on 1/13/20 at 12:32 pm to Napoleon
Is that a McDonald's app you've got running?

After actually reading the letter and examining your pictures, you almost deserve to lose that. It has scam written all over it. Nothing looks professional.
Also, pro-tip, anytime someone excessively uses "kindly" it's a bunch of foreigners scamming you.
Good Lord this is embarrassing.

Comes to mind.
