Someone on here recently said they come with a prepaid envelope to send it back with payment so he would draw a dick on it and mail it back using the prepaid envelope.

They will say it’s a violation against the vehicle and not the driver.
It’s why you don’t get points off your for those violations, they can’t prove who was driving

Wife got numerous ones in Lafayette and we never paid. They threatened collections but not a ding on our credit report. Just kept tossing them in the trash.

Lafayette used to have those cameras. they did away with them, but I heard the unpaid balance was close to 500k once they were removed
nobody was paying those mail tickets apparently. this was from red light cameras.
during the same time, there were a few unmanned vans around town that would record speed as well. One was parked at a location i passed frequently. One morning the van was covered in mud with a bunch of boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts on the hood. some teenagers allegedly got busted for it.

Those camera tickets are completely unenforceable. They will send you threatening letters claiming they will boot your car or report you to credit agency etc. They cannot do that. These tickets are not issued through any court criminal or civil.
It is against the Louisiana to enforce any ticket that was not issued in person.

It's insane how low they set the limit for those. A cop wouldn't write that ticket so the camera shouldn't be set for 5 over. It should be if you break double digits or the first number changes. Usually a cop will let you slide as long as you don't go into the next first digit. I.E. 79 in a 70 and you're good.
You'd be surprised at some of the speeds cops give tickets. I got one from state police going 5 over and it felt like he was about to blast me if I moved one inch. My brother got one in Eunice for 2 over and it's probably because he likes to run his mouth, but the fact that they even pulled him over for 2 over is baffling.

NOLA will absolutely boot you if you don’t pay and they catch your car somewhere.

I’ve seen a ticket for 59 in a 55 written by a cop from one of the speed trap towns along hwy 190.

If it’s in New Orleans and you plan to park on the street in New Orleans at any time in the future pay it.
If you’re not from New Orleans and have no plans to park on the street in New Orleans for the next few years, throw it away.
They absolutely boot and tow for this.
